I watch for this very carefully. No mod has ever used there special mod powers to win an argument or give their opinions greater weight or authority. If this were to ever happen they wouldn't be a mod for long. That is totally not fair to anyone on here.

Everyone who is currently a mod I have full confidence in being able to state their thoughts and opinions in threads and still be able to objectively moderate the thread for things like personal insults. I've seen them do it daily. Wanting to suddenly place limits on what staff can do because of their personal beliefs is not fair to them.

There may be something to that, but the percentages are pretty disproportionate even still, and our tests per 1m are still not very high. Obviously it's a little hard in a country of 330M then in a country of 10M.

Republicans succeeded in having Wisconsin primary go ahead tomorrow. There is a key vote for a state supreme court justice that could swing the balance. Republicans wanted a second election separate from primary so there would be low turnout. That was unsuccessful. Then the virus came. They blocked both postponement and expansion of absentee voting. So Wisconsin residents get to choose between democracy and health.

Sounds somewhat akin to Trump letting the Governors handle their respective states' virus needs. Seems like a prudent approach.

Sounds more like a cop out on his part to me...if things turn out well, he'll demand credit, if things turn out badly, well, it was the governors' fault,


And it's only "prudent" because Trump doesn't generally make sound decisions, or if he does, it's usually after the horse is out of the barn.
