I think he’s done a good job so far. I have things I disagree with but I think he has the best interest of the state in mind.

Yeah, I think the same. He's seemed steady and competent.

I got no sympathy and no respect for her. She stood behind him for weeks smiling and nodding along with his blather.

barfo
She doesn't want to get on Trump's bad side (as she probably is now.) It wouldn't surprise me if Trump gets rid of Fauci at some point.

Then Cuomo needs to put measures in place to ensure a freeze on rent/mortgage and put food on people’s tables. Seems like a better response than trying to play ‘tough guy’ with a bunch of hungry desperate people who’ve been paying his salary for way too long. Just shows how out of touch he is. He has none of the same concerns as the average individual.

Nah.

I thought New Yorkers were the hardest motherfuckers in America. If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere?

They should be the most resilient of our population, being all smart and educated and shit. It's the dumb hicks and trump supporters that need to be saved.

Why must it be addressed "publicly"? You're assuming that mods don't discuss things amongst themselves and others via PM/email.

A "public" shit storm is the very thing they try to avoid...which is precisely why people who sometimes act like jackasses such as you and I et al, are not moderators.
The mods best not be discussing anything without me or I'm gonna throw a tantrum.
By the way, nothing more invigorating than a shit storm in the morning.

I assume you would expect an investigation in our country why trump continually down played the virus rather than prepare for worst case scenario. No, he did not completely shut down flights from China early enough.

This is an honest question, not meant to incite:

How is it all the WHO's fault when we were still given months advanced warning and our person in the white house didn't heed the warning? Do you feel it's more 50/50? 60/30?

Because I do put some blame on the WHO, sure... but if you're told about something 3 months in advance... Then it's more the person who recieved the information than the one who, albeit didn't give you all accurate information, still gave you enough to make measured and decisive decisons... and he did not.

That's why I think there is such ire on that front, IMO.

Trump closed the White House Pandemic offices in DC and in Beijing that Obama had in place..long before this pandemic...now we are paying the price for his politically motivated gutting of health organizations from the previous administration...doctors without borders, etc...and he has the cajones to criticize the WHO? Jesus....if you can't see this guy for who he really is, you just must not want to look

I think Cuomo is more frustrated because he was relying on WHO for guidance. I think if WHO was more forthcoming, he wouldn’t of told people they had it handled in early March.

Do you think though, like riverman just alluded to, we would have had even more warning than the WHO could have given us, if he didnt fire the pandemic team 2 years ago?

Also, in my opinion, it wasn't the WHO who was going to make us think it was handled in early march... I think that was just his ego and his way of trying "to calm everyone down"... we all knewi t wasn't close to over.

That was Cuomo’s statement. You can take it up with him on how wrong he was to say that.

Wait, I just realized you were talking about Cuomo... I transferred to Trump because he said something very similar before that.

Could be quite possible, but China was in cover-up mode. They wouldn’t even allow the CDC or WHO to help in Wuhan. Definitely mistakes were made by the administration. I can definitely concede to that. But the main blame is China IMO.

But what if we had the pandemic team still in tact... that, If I may riverman, is what he is saying... if I'm reading correctly.

I can understand the blame to china to an extent.

I do, however, think because of the brazen, almost flippant nature to which Trump has handled this has hurt us way more than helped. He's trying to act tough, but everyone can see through it.

He’s definitely nervous. He can’t just flip a switch on this to make it go away. I think he’s just as scared as everyone else on this matter.
