Misleading?...not sure why you'd say that.

Florida had "1371 adult ICU spots available" when that was reported yesterday...and added 3207 new cases yesterday and already 3,822 more today...the math does not support your rosey outlook.

The hospitals average about 80% of ICU capacity and they have the ability to ramp up available beds on short notice. They’re fine.

People pretend not to understand satire when it comes from a source they don’t agree with. CNN looking even dumber by trying to portray it as something nefarious. Obviously the person who posted it here got duped also.

Again. People aren't as dumb as you believe they are. Besides, EVERYONE knows what this is: it's idiocy.

Following the murder of a man that sparked days and days of protests, a murder in which a man knelt upon another man's neck until he lost consciousness, for literally a piece of paper, Trump runs ads pretending that we live in harmony and it is actually the people that cover the news that are the problem. I see.

CNN is exactly as dumb as I believe they are. The notion behind their tweet suggested misinformation. They weren’t commenting on the president’s bad taste like you are suggesting.

No, they're not...sure, they have the ability to convert other beds but we went through this a couple of months ago...when other beds are converted, non-covid patients are either put on hold or told they cannot be admitted especially if it's elective surgery. Hospitals don't want another round of the carnage and lost revenue just because a self-absorbed and selfish few disregard safeguards and recommendations in lieu of unsafely congregating.

It's galactically stupid and totally unnecessary...we reopened too soon, period.

I'm unsure now of what you are saying.

CNN didn't do anything here. Trump appears to have gone mad and has made a series of creepy ads; this being one of them.

Of course infections will spike. The whole stay at home thing was to flatten the curve to keep hospitals from overflowing and to make sure we have enough PPE. The hospitals are in good shape and we have enough PPE. Open things up!

We were in good shape late February. How did that workout?

They didn't address senior care centers, they most vulnerable. Plus they purposely weren't testing those with symptoms, asking to tuff it out & quarantine for 14 days. I think I a lot has been learned on all levels.
In Oregon the positives, hospitalizations and death rate as a percentage are actually lower now. That's why the Gov doesnt do anything now. The last weekly report stated they think the symptoms are milder but I guess we will see.
I thin Brown has done a decent job executing her plan.

I know I've touched on this before but it really binds my cheese to know that at nearly every level, our government has failed and evidently crunched the numbers and came up with what they believe is an "acceptable" level of deaths from this virus...I assume they numbly view it as "collateral damage".

They don't give 2 shits about us and they shrug it off as other people's relatives/friends die alone.

Statues are super dumb anyways.

AND if part of the protests are to come to terms with the past, George Washington did own human beings. Actual human beings.

(And the whole "he released his slaves" thing........you know, if he did that when he was alive, we could talk. But come on: “Upon the decease of my wife, it is my Will and desire that all the Slaves which I hold in my own right, shall receive their freedom.” Lauding this is crazy absurd to me.)

We didn’t open soon enough in my opinion. The hospitals won’t be overwhelmed.

The Fed should only be offering assistance at the request of the State. It all starts with the governor declaring an emergency. Then, certain fed agency help cope and there isn't a one size fits all as is usually what the fed wants to do under any administration. They want to centralize support where in fact the best support is always by decentralization.
That would be a change in policy. The Fed has always provided help in the past.

This administration has learned very little though and they continue to misrepresent the seriousness of it with trump keep saying we have it under control and we still see record spikes.

CNN wrote the tweet that was posted here, the one accusing Trump of “manipulating media”.

What are you trying to argue here? And if you have no idea what’s going on in a conversation then why continue to argue?

I agree that government has failed. It doesn't matter who is president or who has control of the house/senate. Government can't be everything to all people. If it tries, it will always s fail.

Yet some people believe that giving government MORE power will be better for our futures.

I just want to know wtf you’re talking about. Your position is that it is okay for the President of the United States to manipulate media? Or that it isn’t a big deal?

Sorry, but this does not make sense to me at all.

You can always define what the goal was, how to measure success and decide if the government actions were successful or not, even if it did not appeal to everyone.

If the goal of the government in the face of a health outbreak is to do everything in it's reasonable power to mitigate this problem - we can look at the Ebola outbreak during the Obama administration and the Covid outbreak during the Trump administration. It is pretty clear that one of these administrations did everything reasonable to mitigate the problem with unqualified success, and the other not.

I call hogwash.

Huh ?...Sorry, but I have no idea what point you are trying to make.
