I've worn a mask 2 times now. I really don't want to wear one. My solution has just been to avoid public places. Which is really not that hard. I'll wear a mask when I need to like at an airport or some public place. It's pretty easy to not go to the store these days when everything is set up to be delivered at my house every Monday and Amazon exists. What other "public" place is really all that 'mandatory'?

Pretty soon, everywhere. Just get used to it.

Nobody wants to wear one...it's not about that....it's to protect high risk people like me with heart disease in case you are a carrier and asymptomatic...it's a public safety measure...I walked my granddogs in a public park in Eugene yesterday and kept the mask around my neck until I encounter other people on the path and put it on when being anywhere near anyone....I got gasoline and wore one when giving the attendant who wasn't wearing one my debit card ….I am required to wear one Wednesday to the hospital for my heart surgery and I was required to wear one when I got my covid test yesterday morning....if we don't wake up about this we're going to extend it's shelf life....this isn't about personal comfort it's about public safety...you don't need to cover your face constantly with a mask but having the option to cover up when passing another person is exercising responsibility..

BLM rallies most wear masks.....Trump rallies nobody wears a mask.....duh...go ahead prez…..go sneeze on someone's cappacino and chuckle...public safety is not about political grandstanding and for what it's worth....I wouldn't join a crowd of people doing anything over the last decade or so....I'm sort of a hermit by nature

My solution avoid passing people, and only be in very small gatherings in private settings. Like I said if I'm in a public place I'll wear one. This has just proved you to need to go out in public and avoiding people isn't that hard.

Neither is wearing a mask....having one available is the point and using it ...I have no tolerance for anyone who refuses the practice ...to me to do that is extremely selfish and it's an area in which our culture has pretty much dropped the ball. Lead by example...I hope it becomes mandatory until we have a proven antidote

this story, and video, is available at a lot of sites so don't slam me for my left-wing browsing...well, sure, slam me but I'll slam back. Wait...."I Slammed Back" would make a good t-shirt

anyway, it's a fairly enlightening perspective from inside a Covid ward in Texas:

it's worth the time to watch the video

you know it's bad when right-wing Texas gov. Greg Abbot is essentially saying he re-opened way too soon

I'm glad your temporary hiatus from S2 ended river....I know you were having some serious health issues; how are you doing right now?

and yeah, I agree....I can't believe how big a deal so many people are making out of the minor inconvenience of wearing a mask. Wear on, protect yourself, protect others

River, good luck with your heart surgery! I'll be thinking of ya.

None needed. He pretty much covers it all.
Warshed in the Blood.

You know, even at my age I sometimes think "I've seen it all." But after seeing the video you linked, I obviously have not.

So nowadays, what motivates me the most to get out of bed every morning is to just to see what the hell is gonna happen next.

It is mandatory in public spaces afaik. I just don't go to public places so that seems like an easy solution for people who don't want to wear one. :dunno:

Unfortunately too many people don’t give one rat’s ass about the elderly and/or health challenged citizens. They themselves are “invulnerable”. And so what if a bunch of old farts die? We’re a drain on society, sucking up financial resources, preventing these losers from achieving “The American Dream”. And responsibility??? These self centered “my rights” pukes don’t need no stinkin’ responsibility (or maturity). It is their God given right to be stupid. And that is virtually impossible to argue with unfortunately.........

you do know that is a satire video....?

he's a comedian who has made 3 or 4 videos like that. He's actually ridiculing right-wing talking points

Covid can be transmitted in non-public places.

From someone who knows.....enjoy the drugs they use to put you under. It’s the only pleasant part of heart surgery. Well, that and cute nurses.......

So is Social Distancing bullshit if one wears a mask?
