to be fair, that article is more than a month old and things have changed a little:
in deaths/million, Sweden is 7th at 552, the US is 9th at 424
however, in terms of revealed infection rate, Sweden is doing much better:
now, typical of right-wing distraction, ABM tried to imply that difference was due to mask-wearing. Context is unnecessary in a right-wing talking point
but in this case, some context is revealing:
* Sweden has a national mandate of social distancing in public places. They have national recommendations of social distancing elsewhere and stay-at home policies. The US really has none of those
* Sweden does not have about 25% of their population under the rule of right-wing governors busy making horrible decisions
* large sections of the Swedish people and lawmakers are not at war with science
* Sweden does not have 1/3 of their citizens as minority populations poorly served by the health care system while disadvantaged by decades long entrenched bias
* Sweden has a robust national program of Covid contact tracing so they can tamp down hot spots. The US has a robust national program of massive confusion, ignoring science, and hiding data
but of course, all those factors need to be ignored if you are trying to pin it all on mask-wearing
