LOL.

I have been camping and kayaking at Wickiup Reservoir twice now, for 4 nights each time, at Little Cultus Lake for 4 nights, and have a week reserved at Crane Prairie Resort campground later this month. Oh, almost forgot, a week reserved in September at Big Cultus campground.

Not to mention 6 day trips kayaking at Paulina and Crane Prairie lakes and on the Little Deschutes River.

Plus, my property on the Little Deschutes River is my own personal campground 24/7.

Yep, no chance these teachers and nurses are spreading the virus. Now lets go arrest someone for getting a haircut.

Would be yours if you thought I was serious!

I was referring to what you posted, and anyone who believes it is credible advice. It's confusing when trying to work around nitpicking mods and their negative ways.

anyone that is using a worthless drug that has no benefit for the corona virus then by all means I say dump it into your system. I will listen to the doctors and the scientists. You can listen to your boy trump and his voodoo doctor.

You are correct.

Other politicians pretend to care.

POTUS Trump actually cares.

Cares about what? Himself? Then yes I agree as he is the biggest narcissist on this planet. He showed so much caring for John Lewis that all he could talk about was him not coming to his inauguration. Such a caring fella. :biglaugh:

Interisland Travel Quarantine Reinstated, as Restrictions Return in Force to O‘ahu
Hawai‘i took two big steps back in its battle with coronavirus on Thursday, as Gov. David Ige announced the reinstatement of the mandatory 14-day interisland quarantine along with a return to restrictions for the island of O‘ahu where the virus has become endemic.
“The numbers keep growing, and we are concerned it will get worse before it gets better,” the governor said. “As we reopened our community, people let their guards down. It’s been very disappointing.”
For now, these restrictions remain isolated to O‘ahu, though worsening case counts on neighbor islands could bring about renewed restrictions of their own.

The primary initiative on O‘ahu is to limit large gatherings, Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell said, with a focus on stricter enforcement. He announced in a press conference Thursday an order that he called Act With Care, Do Not Gather.

O‘ahu’s new restrictions will include the closure of 300 city and county parks, along with all state parks, and the beaches that front them. All campgrounds, botanical gardens, public and private pools, tennis clubs, and team sports have been closed or suspended. The restrictions go into effect on Friday, Aug. 7, and will extend through Sept. 5.

People may still traverse the parks and beaches to get to the water and participate in activities like surfing, swimming, fishing, paddling, and diving, but activities on land will be prohibited. Restroom services will remain open, but no loitering will be allowed.

Bars were already put under a three-week closure in Honolulu County starting Friday, July 31. Restaurants will be allowed to remain open, though cooks will be mandated to wear face coverings. Fitness centers will remain open but classes within them won’t be allowed. Movie theaters, spiritual services, and museums can remain open, but arcades, bowling alleys, and mini-golf courses will be forced to close.

Honolulu Police Chief Susan Ballard said 160 extra police officers will be deployed under strategic enforcement initiatives and that warnings will no longer be the primary mode of enforcement. Instead, officers will write more citations and effect more arrests.
Interisland quarantine restrictions on travel will return Tuesday, Aug. 11. The governor did not provide an expiration date for the order.

Explaining to Trumpers in words of one syllable is pointless; truth is whatever their god emperor says and all else is fake news. But for any sane but wavering humans, a drug might be effective against one disease when taken under medical supervision due to severe side effects. That does not mean it is effective against a completely different disease. And controlled studies show hydroxychoroquine is ineffective and dangerous for Corona virus. No drug should be taken unsupervised because a politician wrong virtually 100 percent of the time and a nutcase who claims endometriosis is caused by sex with demons says to.

So Kansas again got to be America's test case, after former governor Sam Brownback's (horribly failed) attempt to use Kansas to prove that trickle-down economics works.

In this case, current governor Laura Kelly issued a mask mandate for the state. But many counties chose not to abide by it. So what happened? 15 counties opted in, the rest (90 of them) opted out. Let's see how that worked out:

A Kansas health official says counties with mask mandates reduced coronavirus case numbers, while case numbers remained steady in areas that don’t require face coverings.

While new confirmed coronavirus cases across Kansas have trended downward, Dr. Lee Norman, the secretary of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, said Wednesday that COVID-19 case reductions could be attributed to the 15 counties that require masks. Those include Wyandotte, Johnson, Sedgwick and Shawnee.

Those counties, Norman said, represent about two-thirds of the state’s population and tend to have denser urban populations and a greater proportion of people from underrepresented backgrounds who are more likely to contract the virus and face complications.

Even though Gov. Laura Kelly announced a mask mandate in public buildings as case numbers across the state soared in early July, about 80% of the state’s 105 counties refused to comply with the executive order, mainly opting for mask recommendations instead. In total, 90 counties did not institute a mask mandate, Norman said.

“Some counties have been the control group with no mask and some counties have been the experimental group where masks are worn,” Norman said, “and the experimental group is winning the battle. All of the improvement in the case development comes from those counties wearing masks.”

Why are there over a 100 counties in Kansas? How many does Oregon have? I feel like it’s 25ish

predictably, trump is warping what he can on Covid in order to match his constant lies

his latest is to point to the drop in daily new cases (1 week average) that shows up in this graph:

View attachment 32838

but like all things with trump, you always know there are deeper lies and corruption just below the surface. First, they took data and reporting away from the CDC and gave it to HHS, but really, they gave it to a private company whose owner is a giant trump nut-hugger

and of course, trump has been at war with our testing level in the US while telling a bunch of totally stupid lies.....trying to slow down testing...and he has succeeded

with that in mind, and that graph above in mind, I give you the rolling 1 week average of new testing in the US:

lol...nearly mirror images. Trump corrupts everything he can get his hands on...everything.
Using Trump logic, that curve will drop even further when they reopen schools for all to attend, at the same time, on the same day, in the same places. Co-mingling is good for their health and good for ours.

I believe Oregon, which is much bigger than Kansas, has 37 counties, the smallest being Multnomah.

Does this count as a COVID death?

Yes. Just as people with non-COVID diseases dying at greater rates count as COVID deaths. That's kind of the point of a pandemic--it's not just the people who die from the disease itself, it's also all the other negative things that happen due to the unfortunate choices the pandemic creates.

Sorry, I realize you were trying to be snide and ironic, so that effort wasn't wasted, but it actually led to an important point also.

The point is they shouldn't be released

That's not clear. Obviously, that guy shouldn't have been, but some prisoners probably should have been to prevent a massive outbreak in jails.

Of course, the root of this problem isn't the pandemic, but our issue with over-jailing. Violent criminals need to be put in prison, but we jail so many non-violent offenders that we have constantly overfilled jails. That causes a lot of problems, for no good reason, and a pandemic is just the latest.

Build bigger jails.

Isolate covid patients immediately and regular screenings.

They are in jail, the population shpuld be manageable, but unfortunately like all things, they suck at what they do.

Accused Rapists shouldn't be released. Total flunk of the system here and now the girl who allegedly got raped is dead.

Dr. Anthony Fauci says chance of coronavirus vaccine being highly effective is 'not great'

  • White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci that the chances of scientists creating a highly effective vaccine — one that provides 98% or more guaranteed protection — for the virus are slim.
  • Scientists are hoping for a coronavirus vaccine that is at least 75% effective, but 50% or 60% effective would be acceptable, too, he said.
  • The FDA has said it would authorize a coronavirus vaccine so long as it is safe and at least 50% effective.

Im sorry, but this should never happen! Why in hell let a rapist out on the street because they fear he may get covid 19.
This is happening way to much by opening up floodgates to hardened criminals. I swear, the politicians involved in releasing these guys I hope are cursed and cant sleep at night.
Shouldn't have happened and dont tell me its just an occasional small number.

Murderer. He's a murderer and rapist. He just needed help from bail reform laxity to figure it out

Building bigger jails means spending more money. People already balk at spending money for schools or assisting the poor. What chance do you think jails have?
