My doctor friends are freaking out (Work in hospitals in Inland Empire and San Fernando Valley areas of Greater LA).

They are burned out as fuck.
  • Saying Hospital is like 80% COVID patients.
  • Its a War Zone
  • Never seen this many people sick at once.
  • People dying left and right, young and old.
  • Almost feels like our efforts are worthless.
  • Predicts that they will start letting people die and ration care in the next 10 days.

We all know about the value of masks, gloves and social distancing to minimize the transmission of COVID-19. But is there another way to protect against the virus?

There is no guarantee, but an EVMS physician who has spent a career treating patients with sepsis and other life-threatening illnesses believes there may be a way to reinforce the immune system and help protect you and your loved ones.

The approach could be particularly valuable for more vulnerable individuals – those over age 60 and those with a range of other medical conditions.

Paul Marik, MD, Professor of Internal Medicine and Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at EVMS, has been sharing his treatment strategy with physicians around the world.

For the general public, his recommended prescription to help prevent or ward off the virus consists of a cocktail of five vitamins and minerals taken on a daily basis. Dr. Marik’s recommendations are not based on “high-level” research. Instead, they are based on his accumulated knowledge from a 30-year medical career.

Dr. Marik’s recommendations:
  • Vitamin C 500 mg BID
  • Quercetin 250-500 mg BID
  • Zinc 75-100 mg/day (acetate, gluconate or picolinate). Zinc lozenges are preferred. After 1-2 months, reduce the dose to 30-50 mg/day.
  • Melatonin (slow release): Begin with 0.3mg and increase as tolerated to 1-2 mg at night
  • Vitamin D3 1000-4000 u/day (optimal dose unknown).
Before beginning this treatment regimen, you may want to consult with your own physician.

Also, this recommended regimen may change over the coming days and weeks. You can find the latest information at evms.edu/covidcare.

Dr. Barfo's recommendations:

1 package Beef Jerky
10 beers
1 qt ice cream

I believe this is a way to improve your immune system.

What the hell do you have to lose?

As it will probably kill you, you will never have to worry about COVID-19 again!

Fifty maskless anti-lockdown protesters force their way into LA supermarket after California extends regional stay-at-home order INDEFINITELY amid 1,000% spike in hospitalizations
  • Police responded to calls about an unruly crowd at an Erewhon Market in LA's Fairfax district on Tuesday afternoon
  • Dozens of maskless people were filmed shoving their way into the store
  • The protesters berated staffers demanding that they cover their faces
  • 'We just want to shop, we want to take our own precautions that we've been doing all of our lives, and we'll all be fine,' an organizer of the demonstration said
  • The incident came just as Gov Gavin Newsom extended a stay-at-home order in the Southern California region
  • LA County has become one of the nation's worst hot spots in recent weeks
  • Hospitalizations in the county have grown ten-fold in the last two months

The one in Cali must be one that is more contagious. Either that or it was just a matter of time with the population density

hopefully it’s not as deadly as the nyc strain

One of my coworkers is off this week. She said she was at Home Depot getting things so she could make an outdoor patio cover for a new years eve gathering. She tried to justify it by saying it would be small. She lives in North San Fernando, which is the hardest hit area.

I told her to have fun at her superspreader event.

I am gonna start carrying my knife again, I swear I'll get into it telling someone to get the fuck away from me if they start standing to close.
