Show of hands: Is anyone here in favor of not allowing the unvaccinated to freely travel on public transportation or other government-backed restrictions?
I don't think any entity which employs people or which is a necessary service should be required to allow unvaccinated people indoors.

There are medically susceptible people who cannot avoid these locations and it should be the right of that entity to choose.

People who choose not to vaccinate are making that choice.

So you believe that businesses should be able to pre-screen customers if they feel its a "safety" issue and not allow those inside they feel will be a threat?

It depends where we're at with the variants and how many seriously ill patients in the hospital there are.

We came very close to overwhelming some of the hospitals in different areas of the country.

Being able to care for those who are sick with the virus or with other medical problems needs to be one of the main deciding factors in how we decide what to do.

Haven't businesses always done that?

absolutely.....worked killing SARS in Taiwan in 2003...you had your temperature taken before you could enter any store or restaurant or workplace...nobody bitched about it either...it was understood that it was for the greater good and you will not be able to travel out of the country without a vax card either...planes are how SARS spread to 3 countries ....one airplane with one infected crew....history does not have to repeat itself. Do you want to travel to Italy and spend two weeks in quarantine on your own dime? Not my idea of a vacation.

You've never heard of bouncers? Airlines don't let people fly if they don't behave. No shirt, no shoes, no service?

I worked at a place where the glass door was locked and if the receptionist didn't like your looks, she wouldn't open the door for you.

They don't discriminate based on a perceived threat.

For example, in San Francisco, should stores be able to ban homeless people from even entering and shopping (well, they usually shoplift).

What about black people? If they have a higher incidence of crime in the area, can stores screen them out? Lots of smash and grabs out in the news. Can Neiman Marcus make such a policy since they have so much problems with that?

I don't think you are making sense. How do any of the examples I provided not qualify as discriminating 'based on a perceived threat'?

Airlines don't let people fly based on past behavior.

Bouncers let hot chicks and guys that bribe them in. They also set targeted dress codes to keep minorities out.

Pure LA talking.....try that shit in Atlanta and they'll chew you up and spit you out....you want to have fun in LA go to a latin salsa music club....good times...no cravats or smoking jackets required....nobody wants to go to a boring cuck bar and you won't be buying your way into a club in bum fuck Nebraska either...you've watched too many rat pack movies! All 3 logging bars around my neck of the woods would laugh at the idea of a bouncer...or a doorman...you just walk in and order your beer

When the danger is at epidemic proportions and there is a safe, free, and simple solution, yes. Absolutely.

If you are drunk and obnoxious at the gate, they will not permit you to fly because they perceive that you'd be a risk to be drunk and obnoxious - or worse - on the flight. I'd think you'd know that from personal experience!

not back in the day when I lived there...it was awesome and the go to for beautiful women ..people dress up to go salsa dancing...it's not some leather biker bar scene or pastel wheatgrass exclusive gentlemen's club....and I promise...you don't need to bribe the doorman...also if you can't dance...you won't enjoy it as much...best time I ever had in clubs in LA was the Salsa clubs...spent a Saturday night in one with my girlfriend and Robert Duvall and his wife....really swanky latin club in Melrose...not sure if it's there anymore. Robert Duvall was the nicest guy...great dancer..his wife is the tango master of the dance world from Argentina..one of my best LA moments and memories. Duval is taller than I thought he was...you need to expand your horizons dude....Vegas is trashier to me

I am picky about the clubs in Vegas and vibe. No hip hop clubs, mainly EDM.

The latin club in the Melrose area is probably La Descarga.

I don't eat in petri dishes so this won't affect me ever....thanks for the warning...I also would prefer to avoid breathing my little Gates microchips on the unprotected....tempting but...nah

the vast majority of hospitalizations for covid are unvaccinated people...they are sick and unvaccinated...you can be a host and be asymptomatic with this shit...it takes a certain quantity to reproduce inside your body to cause infections...if you don't have that many you can be spreading it without knowing it. Covid can live without humans hosting it for long enough to be passed in the air or on an object...you don't know who's hosting it at all...that's what airborne viruses do..all people who are indoors in crowds are super spreaders or potential super spreaders...sorry it's going to fuck up your bachelor party dude...be smart and safe about this stuff
Less than 0.5% of those that die are from the vaccinated and about 2.5% of those hospitalized are from the vaccinated.
This means that the vast bulk of those getting sick enough to go to the hospital and those that die are from the unvaccinated.
I know I'm preaching to the preacher but I'm hoping that the unvaccinated will read this and take heed.
