Just watched Don't Look Up on Netflix. Depressing and funny when you realize it's a perfect analogy for the vaccine debate, intentionally. (and yes, obviously climate change)

I watched it with a couple anti-vaxxers and they were too dense or in denial to realize it, shocker.

fully vaxxed( no booster) and wear mask when out and about but not at home with some regular visitors(not many) and still got it.
Just stating facts. Not choosing sides.

But I'll note that the last sentence of the abstract you reference says:

"These data support the notion that, provided high neutralization capacity is elicited by vaccination/boosting approaches, reasonable effectiveness against Omicron may be maintained."

How effective do you believe the vaccines are currently against Omicron. Studies show now you have about 10 weeks of protection before it wanes. They are just getting less and less effective. Likely have low effect on transmission. There aren't any breakthrough cases, they are just cases, vaxxed or unvaxxed.

In epidemics anectodal evidence is more harmful than it is helpful.

That's a complicated question and the data isn't very robust yet. The answer is definitely higher than 0% and lower than 100%.

Studies show now you have about 10 weeks of protection before it wanes.

the biggest fact here is you're alive...unlike hundreds of thousands of unvaxxed people who got it....says good things about wearing and a mask and getting two vaccinations ....your immune system saved you from death which happened to so many unprotected, unmasked and unvaxxed people.....what you did was a good thing and it helped you with surviving the second wave apparently..from the start the vaccination was aimed at minimizing your risk of death from infection....never from infection or being an asymptomatic carrier....this thing is airborne so all you can do is give your immune system a chance to counter it's ability to kill.

Didn't really have a point besides that sharing information isn't always a bad thing. Sure, some of the tweets El Prez posts are kind of dumb, but that one wasn't saying people shouldn't be vaccinated. You mentioned already that the data isn't currently robust, looks like it's at least being investigated. That's why I added that link.

Your link was good. The tweet, however, misrepresented the data. So El Prez was sharing misinformation or disinformation, not information. And that makes El Prez a bad boy.

Posted an update when Biden had a hoarse voice too.

Also stresses the importance of testing when symptomatic, just to be sure.
 
Legislatures in Republican controlled states are passing laws to restrict authority of county health departments in order to block Covid prevention. Must have freedumb!
Along with replacing election officials.
