TSA no longer enforcing Covid mask mandate on planes, public transit after judge overturns CDC rule

  • A federal judge in Florida on Monday rule that the CDC had overstepped its authority when it issued a mask mandate for planes and other forms of public transportation.
  • The TSA is not enforcing the mask mandate at this time, a Biden administration official said.
  • White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the administration is reviewing the court’s ruling and Justice Department will decide whether or not it will appeal.
  • The court’s ruling comes less than a week after the CDC extended the mandate for 15 days, amid a rise in Covid infections nationwide due to the more contagious omicron BA.2 subvariant.

No more of this.

I'll probably still wear an n95 on planes and crowded areas of airports.

I'd have no problem with that. To me, it's been a bit funny. People ordering drinks, and nursing them, as to keep their masks off. Many other masks dipped below their noses, and so on.

As an aside, when I go to restaurant, I tell the greeters, "Yes, I'll make that 40-foot walk to my table, only then to rip off my mask!" Which always receives a smile or thunbs-up. It's a farce.

Arm was sore for a day. Gland in armpit was sore for a day.

but fuck this antenna. Still there.
Got my second Pfizer booster last Friday and for about three hours I felt like someone shot me up with 5 hour energy. Couldn't believe how amped up I was, then I got tired and sluggish. Felt ok the next day and no antennas! YET

Stick the mask in your your crotch. When you leave take it out, put it on and go "ohhhhh...that's the good stuff"

Inconvenience, maybe.

Misery, grow the fuck up.

I've been on plenty of flights. Masks have pretty much been a quasi-miserable experience. Flights are confining as it is. Super glad things are changing!

Got my second booster this morning. No ill effects to this point…….

Misery is burying a spouse, child, or grandchild.

Wearing a mask on a plane is not misery.

Thanks a bunch for the clarifiation.

Definition of misery

1: a state of suffering and want that is the result of poverty or afflictionWar brought misery to thousands of refugees.
2: a circumstance, thing, or place that causes suffering or discomfortthe joys and miseries of life
3: a state of great unhappiness and emotional distressMy former boss made my life a misery.

I'd say it fits the 2nd definition.

Suffering? Really?
