of the 4.4 million covid deaths (that have been reported) 17,400 were children with 47% of those being from age 0-9....the number that doesn't get figured in would be still births from mothers who had covid...they don't show up on the stat sheet. Everyone knew from day one it would kill more elderly and at risk adults but that's true of every sickness.

Children dying of Covid is virtually nonexistent. Stop with the emotional manipulation.
Children's parents do die from it. And vaccines reduce the frequency, duration, and severity of infection for everyone vaccinated.

Vaccinated kids infect fewer people (including parents), thereby causing fewer kids to grow up without a parent.

These are good things. There is no downside.

I’ve repeatedly brought up varying age groups and believe in examining the cost/reward of the vaccine. If you’re at risk then get it, I’m not, so don’t make me. That’s really all it boils down to for me.
we've had this disagreement before....taking the shot particularly when the first wave arrived wasn't because you need it as much as you are less likely to infect a snowballing social circle with it which could shut down schools and jobs, etc...it was for public protection as much as personal protection. That's what contagious stands for. I'm sure you quarantined and kept your neighbors from getting it when you got it. My son quarantined when he got it and his wife and kids were spared getting it. The safety measures work. You can still get it but it probably won't kill you when you do if vaxxed. I personally don't care if you take safety precautions or not but my advice is free to either listen to or ignore.

As long as you sign off on not being treated for anything you aren't vaccinated for in hospitals as well as being personally financially responsible if you infect somebody else with anything you aren't vaccinated for I'm fine with you not being vaccinated.

Please explain the difference? Immunity offers a degree of protection. Protection can offer a degree of immunity.

They are literally the same thing.

Come on man. You know what you’re doing here don’t make me play dumb games, I truly believe you are smarter than this.
Being immune to something is not the same as having “some” degree of protection against it. That is such a false dichotomy.

No, it's literally the same. No vaccines (or inoculation or infection related immunity) have ever made everyone immune to anything. They have only ever offered varying degrees of immunity to a varying percent of the population for varying lengths of time.

Or, in other words, varying degrees of protection to a varying percent of the population for varying lengths of time.

And in doing so, they have been an absolutely wonderful benefit to society.

I don’t think that’s up to you. Do I also get to refrain from paying the taxes that prop up this medical system after I’m denied access to it?

I didn't suggest it was up to me, but you're here sharing your opinion, and I'm sharing mine.

I am also fine with you opting out of paying taxes if you don't use any of the services the taxes support.

You can avoid using the streets and sign up to be exempted from police, fire, and other emergency services.

after I’m denied access to it?

I'm sorry, once again, this is your choice to refuse to contribute. I'm not proposing you be denied anything, rather, given the choice to abstain.

I really think you’re underestimating the greed of the American for-profit medical system, it’s very unlikely they share your aversion to certain types of hospital stays. I don’t foresee them turning away potential clients any time soon. A sicky is a sicky. Come in, get poked and prodded and get the fuck out with your $8000 invoice in one hand and a prescription in the other.

And that isn’t a dig on doctors by the way. I think they are doing gods work and are pretty far detached from the inner corporate workings of the rotten system they are beholden to.

I'm okay with that as long as those who have refused vaccination are the only ones refused beds during epidemics and they are also on the hook for their own medical expenses.

I'm not underestimating anything. An $8000 invoice wouldn't even begin to cover a hospital stay for communicable disease.

My cousin died, he has 3 kids under the age of 10.....is this me manipulating your emotions. Dumbass refused to get a vaccine.....

It was his choice to make though, that’s just the stark reality of it. Maybe the vaccine could’ve saved him, it isn’t guaranteed, but certainly possible. Maybe he had some other shit going on where it hit him especially hard and nothing could be done. You might never know. It was his choice and his right not to take it at the end of the day regardless. Just as much as it’s your right to be hurt and angry and wonder why. Life sucks sometimes dude, as you clearly know. Sounds like your circle has been hit especially hard by Covid and I’m sorry if my personal opinions come off as abrasive. I certainly wish no pain on anyone but I do hold on tightly to what I believe is my free will. Your family’s Covid might be my family’s overdose and suicide. You can’t get a needle in someone’s arm any easier than you can get one out of another’s. You can point blame this way or that and drive yourself crazy saying “what if” but you can’t force anyone to do anything, so it’s easier to just focus on the things that actually are within your control.

The numbers show it's almost a certainty.

An unnecessary death that likely put more stress on an already overwhelmed system.

Same as my friend. At least my friend died at home... he didn't take up a bed that somebody else needed.

I really feel for his wife and young son.

Eric Clapton, who thought being a rocker made him medically qualified (I don't ask my doctor to play guitar and I don't get medical advice from musicians), crusaded against Covid vaccine. He just did a fund raiser for antivaxxer conspiracy monger Robert Kennedy Jr., who hopes to gain enough votes to turn the election to Trump.

Robert Cray has since pulled out of all his tours and festivals with Clapton over his anti vax crusade. Cray has toured with Clapton for decades

That sucks. Sorry for everyone involved
It was a rough stretch brother. January 2021 if I remember correctly. Lost 6 people within 14 days. Old friends, younger family and the strangest one was my friend Neal Blassengame. Childhood friend.....Mr. Oregon Muscle (or some title) for 5 straight years. Was told he had COVID and died within 3 days..... Just blows me away that people still feel the way they do about it.
