I think there is absolutely zero chance Houston gets Howard; therefor; absolutely zero chance that Portland can get asik

Dwight Howard also wants "to play in the frontcourt WITH Asik"

I take that in the same spirit as "I don't have any problem with Kobe"
Question: are we under the cap enough to absorb Asik's salary? Could we do a #10 for Asik trade? (Whether or not we'd want to - I would - is another matter.)
It’s extremely early in this process, and there will be a ton of reports and rumors that will be circulated before Howard makes his final decision. The advice to Lakers fans who are holding out hope Howard will return to Los Angeles is to remain calm and patient throughout it all, and to take everything you hear with a grain of salt until Howard’s choice has been made official.
well ok then. FACT: The Pelicans just offered Tyreke Evans up to $50 for 4 years (if incentives are met)
FACT: The Pelicans already have Eric Gordon
FACT: The Pelicans have to unload some salary to afford what they offered Evans.
SUGGESTION: The Rockets could use another shooter to play alongside Howard. Gordon could play with Harden, because Harden does the Roy thing of dominating the ball at key moments (which is why Harden and Lin are a poor fit, because Lin does the same) so Gordon could be SG to Harden's PG, or you could have Harden at SF in a smallball lineup.
SO: we get Asik, Houston gets Gordon, Pelicans get ? (mostly cap space)?
Gordon is a big risk for Houston, but he's also high reward if he works out. Does Morey have the nads?
FACT: Al-Farouq Aminu started 71 games for the Hornets last year.
I would not be surprised if they put Evans at SF. Even out of position, he's way better than anything else they have in that spot. A Holiday/Gordon/Evans perimeter could be pretty formidable.
