I wanted to offer Lillard for Ben Simmons last year, after Simmons got injured. I wonder if they would've gone for it?

You offer CJ for Simmons and when they laugh you ask what they would take and go from there.I wanted to offer Lillard for Ben Simmons last year, after Simmons got injured. I wonder if they would've gone for it?
The only person that knows for sure is Allen. After yet another season that ends in a gutless whimper, maybe he's ready to try something new?Besides, the question asked here is mostly moot. It's not what we want, it's what PA wants.
And there is no way he can tolerate a full on tank.
I think this is a very good point. Olshey has the stench of a fast talking salesman. I suppose he's probably relatable to most player agents. But to the players? I think most free agents would be more likely to respond to and want to play for someone they respect and relate to, like Chauncey Billups. Kind of a "players GM", if you will. We'd have to get a gm like Chauncy Billups then that could maybe actually convince decent players to come here.
Trade him to a team that has another team's pick, then.If we trade Dame to the worst team in the league for draft picks, he will still find a way to make the playoffs. Making those picks worthless for a rebuild.
Yes - a "Player's GM" makes MUCH MORE sense than a Player's Coach. The GM like Billups would be able to relay the fact to his players that you don't have to like your coach, you just have to respect him.I think this is a very good point. Come on uncle Paul. Make this happen!
The team will be sold and moved to SeattleI can but I think if this owner faced this kind of reality it could cause him to sell. I’m sure he would like to at least win championship before he dies or sells.

Where do I sign up...
Bleh.
You along with everyone else who voted 'Yes'. Signs up by buying season tickets and being at every single game.
If you're unwilling to do this, then you're unwilling to sit through a full, philly style rebuild.
To be (very grudgingly) fair to Olshey: he's already done a rebuild after the LaMarcus exodus. Trouble is, he fucked it up by giving a big contract to Turner and any contract at all to Leonard.
Great coach and GM. Able to trade high draft picks for more high draft picks while being very smart with trades and free agent signings.
A very well run franchise.
Philly just sucked as much as they could and kept throwing darts at the draft dartboard in hopes of hitting the bullseye.
I've STOPPED going to games because of how they play now and the mediocrity they are in. Watch every game on TV but not going to spend the kind of time and money that season tickets requires.
So I'm up for a rebuild because this clearly isn't working. 10 straight Playoff losses isn't close to anything but false hopes unless there are MAJOR changes.
Let me ask you a question:I don't understand people saying we have a good culture.
If by 'good guys' then yes we have a good culture - but in relation to basketball production - it stinks.
Our leadership has produced a team that regularly gives up huge leads early in games (poor mental prowess & preparation), low effort on court (defense and wont run) , no accountability for poor decisions, also can't ever finish off a team often letting them back into the game. There is no killer instinct, there is spotty effort, faux-toughness and what looks like a superiority complex that justifies relaxed, sloppy play.
They are nice guys - but the culture is terrible, and I hope it is razed to the ground.
You have to scout ahead in high school and even middle school. Tanking at the wrong time would really suck
I clearly said Philly in my OP. I added Boston because once they got some high draft picks they have continued to turn them into more high draft picks while completely retooling their roster multiple years in a row. I would love it if we could do it the Boston way but I don't see that happening. Paul Allen loves the draft too much to trade a high pick for future high picks. He's a dartboard guy always looking for the bullseye.
That isn't really what I meant, you don't have to go watch the next Shaq in person. You just have to time it right with the draft. Tanking for Michael Bennet ain't worth itUnder the current rules NBA teams aren't allowed in high school or middle school games.
Let me ask you a question:
Even though it was regular season, how on Earth would a team as bad as you make it seem win 49 games?
