<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Over the past decade or so, the point guard position has taken some serious hits. Deficiencies have been magnified. Some guys can't shoot. Others can't stay healthy.
We're talking about the best of the best here, too. Baron Davis has clashed with coaches and had problems with injuries. Allen Iverson, Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis have all been considered selfish. Jason Kidd has always struggled with his shooting. Chauncey Billups floated around for years before finally earning a shot. Two-time MVP Steve Nash has been criticized for his lack of defense.
Contributing to the issue is that some of the college game's most consistent point guards never saw their games translate to the pros. In short, some have seen better days.
Cross your fingers, but this is where the resurgence begins. Chris Paul, the No. 4 pick sandwiched between Utah's Deron Williams and Charlotte's Raymond Felton, is the NBA's next great point guard. He'll surpass Kidd, Nash and Gary Payton, generally considered the best of his predecessors </div>
Let's wait and see, because I do see a lot of Kidd in him. His rookie numbers were pretty similar to Kidd's rookie stats. Of course that is only one season.
However Kidd will be the greatest point guard for me.
