Colin Cowherd reported on his show this morning that a deal had been reached sending Chris Paul to the Knicks. No ther specifics were known at this time.

(I should also add that I did not hear the program, but a couple of co-workers told me).

Re: CP3 to the Knicks

well that would suck.

Re: CP3 to the Knicks

Hmm, don't see anyone on NY's board discussing it, and I'm sure they woudl be.

Re: CP3 to the Knicks

Do the Knicks even have cap space to absorb crappy NO contracts any more?

Methinks your coworkers are fucking witcha.

Re: CP3 to the Knicks

Its nowhere on twitter.... dont fuck with us BP....

banable offense?

Re: CP3 to the Knicks

I heard that right as I woke up. I can't say what I heard for sure as I was half awake.

I never heard the words "Done Deal" but it doesn't mean he didn't say it. I thought his tone sounded more like speculation.... but again.

Half awake.

I'm a big help eh?

Re: CP3 to the Knicks

ESPN reported this morning that "a possible trade has taken place" involving CP. Got that off google. Here's the quote from CBS:

ESPN spent several minutes on its morning SportsCenter discussing a possible trade involving the New Orleans Hornets and Chris Paul. http://www.nola.com/hornets/index.ssf/2010/07/the_chris_paul_trade_rumors_co.html

That doesn't mean a done deal, but it's stronger than anything else we have heard.

"A possible trade" takes place with Chris Paul roughly 40% of the time anyone uses ESPN Trade Machine and gets a green light.

Not the cap space to. It'd likely be something like Curry, Randolph, Gallinari, Douglas or Chandler for Paul/Okafor. So it comes down to Gallinari and Randolph, basically, being better than the prospets we offer up. I'd take Aldridge over them, even on his big deal.

Dell Demps gets fired in his first week of work.

We are not trading LMA. CP3 already mentioned he wouldn't want to come to the Blazers if Roy and LMA wasn't here. Plus the Knick players have a low salary and LMA salary is to much for NO to take. They want to try and save money not trade for LMA.

LMAO considering I use up 60% of ESPN Trade Machine bandwith I wholeheartedly agree with this!

:D

If a trade has occurred, then it cannot be that: Randolph can't be traded except by himself.

It would be funny to have NO trade Okafor for Chandler, though.

I believe this is the Sportscenter clip in question:

They mention NY, Dallas, Portland, and Orlando

Sorry, wasn't saying for a rumored completed deal. Was just comparing what each team can actually offer. NY's offer would just ahev to wait a month.

The point is to save money and get cheap assets. Aldridge doesn't save them money, and isn't a cheap asset. As a player, he's better, but I don't think NO cares.

Oh. OK, it looks like my co-workers were talking nonsense to me. Sorry for the false alarm.

Don't quote me on this, but I think they can because NYK is under the cap.

It's Wilson Chandler btw.

That's okay. Our collective high blood pressure will now drop to normal. Sorry about all those that suffered an MI (heart attack) though.

Right. But, if Chris Paul agreed that Roy; Batum; Oden was better than Roy; Aldridge (for example), the Blazers could trade Aldridge to a team with cap space (Nets?) that can absorb his salary in order to get their asset that NO might prefer.

Re: CP3 to the Knicks

I thought ESPN was pretty reliable when talking about things like that.

They're not. A decade or so ago, they bought a site called "NBA Rumors" which simply collected anything the guy heard, credible source or not. ESPN's main goal is to stir discussion...they don't always use credible news to do it.

Re: CP3 to the Knicks??

premature ejaculation thread

I thought HCP already addressed that in his "What he is doing right now" thread.
