That's not half bad... although I think OKC would balk at it
Maybe, getting yet another 1st round pick to add to their collection while getting rid of CP3's horrible contract is something I think they'd jump at though.

Personally I'd think the Blazers would decline, absent any healthy centers. Whiteside and a first for Covington? I don't think so. Mayyyyyyyyybe Nurk were back.

Dieng has struggled shooting the ball this year but has been dominant on defense in limited action. I think he'd be okay as a temporary stop gap. We'd still have the Hood DPE to add someone like Faried/Noah or trade for any number of centers that qualify too for depth. I guess it comes down to how much the Wolves would want Paul. If they see him as a huge asset maybe they'd be the ones throwing in a pick. I do agree it does seem like a lot (I'd lottery protect the 1st) but it solves our wing problem for the next 3 years.

Hm. That's an interesting trade that sort of makes sense - so it'll never happen! I think that if the Wolves players couldn't stand playing with Butler because he bossed them around, that would go double for Chris Paul. But that said, they obviously need to shake something up and they don't want Teague or Dieng. However, I imagine Covington is a pretty hot commodity...

Okay, I know you just clicked on this thread to insult me, but hear me out. There are a lot of cons to acquiring Paul, as people are aware. First and foremost is his RIDICULOUS contract. I get that. Second is that he's always been pretty injury prone, and now he's old, too.
BUT:
1. He's still a really really good player. He's incredibly smart, plays incredibly hard, and is an elite backcourt defender.
2. He's probably the best player we could get for less than his basketball value. We don't even know if we can get Kevin Love (who certainly won't help our bad defense) let alone Blake Griffin.
3. He actually fills a need. Our starting unit is not that bad, but our bench is like a flock of headless chickens. A player like Paul has value beyond his own individual contribution because he knows how to turn a bunch of players into a cohesive unit. He's a coach on the floor.
4. As things stand, Stotts is going to play Dame and CJ into the ground because everything falls apart unless at least one of them is out there. With Paul that wouldn't happen. Plus he might not be as injury-prone with fewer minutes himself.

Does this mean our best three players would be under 6'3"? Yeah - SMALLBALL BABY!
Hey, you’re right!

Thunder fans are going all crazy on Blazers fans on Twitter because they have a better record.

I think it's bad for the Thunder long term because now they might not trade guys like CP3, Gallo, and Adams. Their rebuild won't be as good if they try and make the playoffs and don't bottom out. It will be like the Blazers when Aldridge left only with a PG 10 years older.

But they have so many picks from their various trades they can both rebuild AND stay good. And they already have their star of the future in Gigeous-Alexander. They are right to gloat.

But how good will the rebuild be if none of the picks end up being lottery picks? SGA and maybe Bazley are the only two young guys they really currently have with massive potential.

Look, if you weren't surprised by the foam all over my mouth at the thought of Anthony joining our team then all I can say is you ain't seen nothin' yet. Paul joins our team over my dead body!

Chris Paul …..no, please no....he's played with a ton of talent on his last two teams and complained and bitched in both places..and he's older, injury prone and expensive...I see no positive in signing Chris Paul at a position we have covered...at this point in his career Bazemore is a tougher defender of guards than Chris Paul and Chris Paul is just going to piss off the refs....like we need some of that
Riverman realized this take was so bad that he had to go into hiding.
