Now that Boogie is injured and out for the year, do the Pels deal him? What's the trade value of a severely injured superstar heading into unrestricted free agency?

I think the likelyhood of htem trading him goes down because now they might get him to resign regardless because other teams will be scared to offer him a max with that kind of injury. Now that Boogie is injured and out for the year, do the Pels deal him? False, where'd you get this notion from? If you're thinking about the Poison Pill Provision, where a player has signed an extension that hasn't taken place, that doesn't make him untraceable, just hard to trade. The team trading for him gets incoming salary at the set amount for the first year of his new extension, while the team sending him out is only sending outgoing salary at the amount the player is making at the present time, thus making it hard to match salaries.CJ can't be traded this season...it's not possible to trade him until I think a year from now or next summer...not sure which.
well I'm mistaken then but I read it in a trade discussion somewhere....1st year contracts like his rarely get traded...I thought they couldn't ....Meyers couldn't be traded until Jan 15th or something...I don't keep up with this stuff...see if I can find that article...if I'm not mistaken it was July 25th they said before he could be movedFalse, where'd you get this notion from? However, CJ is in the first year of his new extension so that doesn't apply.
No, he can be traded. Meyers couldn't be traded till Jan. 15th of last year because he's just signed a contract that previous off-season.well I'm mistaken then but I read it in a trade discussion somewhere....1st year contracts like his rarely get traded...I thought they couldn't ....Meyers couldn't be traded until Jan 15th or something...I don't keep up with this stuff...see if I can find that article...if I'm not mistaken it was July 25th they said before he could be moved
You're insane. Phil Jackson is no longer part of the Knicks. No way they take all our bad contracts just to get rid of Noah.Knicks get:
Evan Turner
Maurice Harkless
Meyers Leonard
Noah Vonleh
Blazers get:
Courtney Lee
Kyle O'Quinn
Willy Hernangomez
Joakim Noah
Waive and stretch Noah
Then use the trade exception to snag Tyreke Evans from the Grizzlies

Lateral move.
Hood can't even guard his own position let alone others. What about CJ and Nurk for Middleton, Parker and a 1st rd pick trade? Milwaukee is in the market for a big man, needs scoring, already has enough young players, and is reportedly not too interested in resigning Parker long term this offseason.
Then you go and make a deal for Hood in a package built around Napier.
I’m in the camp of Collins is our COF, Middleton is a better overall player compared to CJ, and Jabari Parker is an all star level player when healthy. There’s obvious risk involved but I think this team has the ability to contend if things go well. Plus we would have two first rd picks to either use or help facilitate trades.
Dame/Draft pick
Hood/Connaughton
Middleton/ET/Aminu/Harkless
Parker/Aminu/Swanigan
Collins/Davis/Draft pick/Leonard
Look at the shooting and switch ability 2-5.

Hood can't defend, and is super inconsistent. Parker is comiing off two ACL tears. Middleton is the best piece in that trade. But still..I think we just have different opinions on how good Parker, Hood, and Middleton are.

Our defender gets worse. Middleton is an overrated defender and Parker+Hood suck on that end.

We replace CJ with Hood...?By replacing CJ on the perimeter with Middleton our perimeter defense gets a lot better and if Collins continues to develop as a defender and shot blocker I just don’t see how it can be any worse then it is right now. Hood has the size and length to be a good defender and I still see potential for him on that side of the floor. I don’t think he will ever be a defensive stalwart or anything but I do believe he can be better.
We replace CJ with Hood...?
Stotts doesn't make beret defenders. Thibs can't even turn Wiggins into a solid defender so an doubt Stotts could do so with Hood.
Yeah, it's all moot though because Neil won't trade CJ.Defensively Middleton would replace CJ. Unless we’re playing a team not as strong at guard as they are at forward. I wouldn’t expect Stotts to turn Hood into a strong defender but I do think he could get to place where he’s not a liability. Plus we still have ET, Aminu, and Davis who are probably our strongest defenders.
I also just think offensively that team would have so much potential and the ability to play a style much more suited for Stotts offense. So any dip on defense, which I don’t think there would be much if any, would be made up for on the offensive end.
Yeah, it's all moot though because Neil won't trade CJ.
