The D-League is having its showcase right now, because now NBA teams are allowed to call up any D-Leaguer and sign him to a 10-day contract. While Tim Frazier's MVP might put us all off D-Leaguers for good, it should not be forgotten that players like Hassan Whiteside and Danny Green had to slog through the D-League before making it. Apparently Elliot Williams, who has been on top of the D-League call up rankings all season, has just been signed by Memphis, so we missed that boat. Also Lorenzo Brown, who is a true PG at 6'5", which would work nicely with CJ, you'd think, has been signed by the Suns. (Not a great shooter or defender, though.) Another name that intrigues me is Darington Hobson, who is a SF who does a little bit of everything (y'know, like a poor man's Batum?)
Apparently Keith Appling, who featured only tangentially in a Blazers Summer League team, is good at defense. That might be a refreshing change.
I see that Spencer Dinwiddie has been sent down by the Pistons, after starting for a while for them. But he's third in line after Reggie Jackson and Brandon Jennings, so maybe they'd give him up for something cheap? He's another big PG, and he plays defense.
