I think a year ago or so he was asking 30-35 a year?Everyone gasps over the latest quarterback contract and in a few years, it's the 12th or 15th highest quarterback number in the league.
Also, the reason the Cowboys gave in is because applying the franchise tag this year would have essentially meant not being able to next year and potentially seeing him walk for nothing. While technically they could have tagged him next year, the tag amount would have been like $55 million...essentially impossible within a salary cap that would still be recovering from the drop this year.

The money is crazy in Pro Sports anymore but that cool as long as owners are willing to pay those salaries, in capitalist country supply and demand can dictate price. Fans are paying for it in someway because as the owners and sponsors are making millions also.
