Unworthy of you, dviss.

Right, you want to insult a man, compare him to a woman. What could be lower, more worthless, than being female?

Unnecessary, irrelevant. Unless you're trying to be Trump's VP and he already said only white males (presumably straight and Christian) need apply.

To be clear though, I was referring to the softness of a woman. I was in no way saying women are less than.

I think we all knew what you were getting at. Several of us had similar thoughts.

Some peeps are contrary to be contrary and turn everything into a movement.

Was what I said insensitive toward women?

Yes.

I have lots of problems with lots of shit people post. Racism is rampant in the forum as is White privilege.

When you care about the stupid shit people post in a lightly-moderated forum, then you have given way too much credit to the level of intelligence to the human race (and this board in general).

Just sayin', FAMS...

Well, when you don't deal with racism or sexism everyday it's easy to have that opinion.

I get what you're saying. Obviously, my post was mostly in jest, but it was in the mold of the, "if you have faith in others that they won't let you down, prepare to be disappointed......"

I expect people to be dumb/ignorant/racist/sexist/etc. So, yeah.... I generally just don't take notice (unless directly pulled into the situation) because I have low expectations of people in general. I lower my standards when I pull up S2 on the browser (that's not a knock on people, necessarily, just an acknowledgement that people act differently, or more extreme, on public forums, such as this).

It seems like you have a problem with anything anyone says on this board
I like Crandc and have yet to have any problems with what she has posted. I get the feeling that she's speaking her mind and not just trying to stir shit up. I have no problem with people speaking their mind, unless their mind is being used to deliberately cause pain/trouble for somebody else.

In my mind all of us on this earth are equal, and therefor I too would make a joke along the lines of what Dviss said. It doesn't mean that I think women are inferior to men, it just means that Aldridge is a whiny bitch. I think a lot of the meaning of what we say has to do with our intentions for saying it, and I don't think Dviss intends to put men above women.

Back on topic...

I'm all for Dame playing on team USA. It will be a great opportunity for him to grow his image. We've already seen he was #44 on the top 100 world athletes. The Summer Olympics are a great way for him to climb that list. While his image benefits him more than the team, it still does carry over to the team. The bigger he grows in the league the more people around the league will take notice. He's obviously already on the radar of anyone who is anyone around the league, but the chance to play on a competitive team with other star players who he would not otherwise have the opportunity to play with will be huge as well. You go from people saying "Dame's a great player, he's hard to defend..." to "I knew Dame was a great player, but had no idea he was this great to play with. He's always looking for the open guy and sets them up to succeed".

Basically the other stars know Dame is a good player, but they might not know how nice playing along side him could be.

Does white privilege mean I can personally attack you and not get edited? I'm on board

Being a black lesbian probably worse? Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with lesbians. I have a lot of their movies.

Speaking of that, can one of us just start a "race wars" topic in OT and this kind of discussion can just go there, maybe? Idk, just thinking out loud.

I know you guys are decent people and definitely do try to stay respectful to others. And I know the remark wasn't intended but there's a reason this comes across as super dickish to women.

It talks about "pounding" a woman and is used to describe one basketball player dominating another. In other words, rape. the remark wasn't meant that way but we so commonly see references to pounding, killing, even murdering it that nobody thinks about what it really means.

Crandc is right to call this out, Dviss sincerely gets it and made it right. These two people care about how they and other people are treated. They care about more than themselves and their inner circles. It's something to admire.

I don't mind her at all and shes not wrong. Its just that there's always gonna be people that post insensitive stuff. Just would seem like a waste of time to call everyone out on everything they post. It just mucks up threads and doesn't achieve anything; people aren't gonna change their ways.

I don't want Dame to make this squad and be a bench warmer. Every Olympic team there's a Michael Redd, a Carlos Boozer or a Tim Hardaway that makes the squad, but doesn't get much run. I don't want to see shots of him riding the pine.

Wait a fucking minute! Grandc is a woman??? This explains EVERYTHING!

Next time say "in the sense I cleaned out your moms, sisters or wife's pussy last night, then yes."

I like the jokes you post on Facebook better.

A man walks into a doctors office with a piece of lettuce hanging out of his butt. The doctor looks at it and says "wow, that's quite a problem you have there." The man turns to the doctor and says "you ain't kidding, Doc, and that's just the tip of the iceberg."

it wouldn't be considered insensitive if people weren't so damn sensitive

That's a great joke. I had no idea you followed me on Facebook. Better question is why? LOL
