Interesting how the vocal Anti-Dame group in this thread ignored Dame's presence at the predraft workouts yesterday.

But wait.... He reposted something cryptic on IG. Let's all assume the worst and cry about it.

I'm not sure what qualifies as "anti-Dame" at this point. I don't really like his music..... am I anti-Dame?

C'mon Nate. You know who the anti- Dame crowd is. Some don't even use the classic "I love Dame, but" either. They belittle all of his accomplishments, and focus on the only thing they can , the defensive side of the ball. Which 99% of the greatest players today, have an issue with as well.

This is the era where you can clearly see Dame has taken complete ownership of the franchise...I'm glad to see it...he's not in Cabo..he's at playoff games rubbin' elbows and at the practice facilities watching new guys work out, and I'd guess Dame had a lot to do with bringing BRoy back into the family as well....make no mistake...Dame knows what he has here and what he could lose by walking away...he'll end up owning the Blazers when all is said and done

Well said River. The Force is Stronggggg in you.

It was awesome to see Terry Porter, Brian Grant and Dame all at the PF with Chauncey and Joe watching the workouts....I wonder if Terry isn't a coaching candidate for the G league team..(at least I think it was Terry from the photos on the website) Or maybe Terry is going to get Brooks seat on the bench

That makes a ton of sense. Also Kudos to Jody & Bert for listening to the criticism, and bringing change. Whether it be the fan's outcry over the possibility of keeping the Broadcast crews at home for road games (dumb idea that was scrubbed), or responding to Clyde's criticism that the Blazers don't have much to do with former players. At least it seems like what's happening. I do think the Blazers are listening and care. The Nuggets are going towards a potential championship, and Kroenke has made it so few got to enjoy the ride. Guess that's the way Stan pays for his 7 billion dollar palace in Inglewood.

I'd say most people on the board are extremely supportive of Dame, but some (a minority) think the team should pivot and rebuild now while others want to keep Dame, and there is probably even a third group that might consider either direction depending on the details.

Compare that to when Aldridge was leading the team, or ZBo, or Roy, or Rasheed Wallace. Even secondary players like CJ or Batum. Now with Ant or Grant. Those players get roasted hard here way more than Dame ever has. Sure Sharpe is looked on very fondly now, but in a year or two we might have dozens of posters hammering on his faults and questioning if the team should trade him.

So in the context of this board souring on Blazers, I'd say Dame is held up clearly higher than all others.

Maybe I just tuned those people out.... not sure.

I think it's actually the "pro Dame" crowd that wants to trade the pick so Dame can "win now."

I'm as Pro Dame as there is. I draft Wemby. I think the tandem of Dame and Wemby could be very special . But #2 on, i'm trying to go after the best player possible .

And he should.

Naw, falling in love is a great thing. Just make sure they're a Blazer Babe.

Well sure I love my wife and kids more than anything. But I kind of feel like Nate a bit, if I didn't have all this, it would be nice to be single and just do whatever I want. I wouldn't look for another situation again where I'm committed. Maybe just a grass is greener impulse when you don't have that freedom.

Would you trade Wembanyama for Giannis?

Hopefully it never happens. But if it does, hopefully it's because you both need to move on. Mine, after 25 good years , came to an abrupt stop , and cut my heart out. I've forgiven her , and she's a friend now. 10 years later i still have hope that i may meet that special lady one day.

We all hope players will be totally invested in our city going forward. Especially the best ones. But i just don't see it.

Nope! While Giannis is a complete stud on and off the court (oh what could have been) but 29 with knee & back issues vs 19 and a bright future all in front of VW is why. I don't think GA is built to last and expressed this when the Blazers dealt the Bucks 2025 unprotected 1st for Grant.

STOMP

Fingers crossed but i'm worried on the return. Who can we really get with that haul?

Nurk doesn't have value on an overpaid contract, so it's really just Ant. He probably has about the same value as CJ McCollum. He's younger with more upside, but also less proven. So we can probably get a Josh Hart level of backup/flawed starter plus a protected pick.

Getting a star probably requires us throwing in a lot of draft picks, which makes it difficult if not impossible to construct the rest of the roster towards being a contender.

Joe and the Blazers have put themselves in a very difficult position if they're truely trying to build a contender with Dame this summer.

I don't think Joe has ever said his goal is to build a contender after his 2nd season.
Fans and the media have concocted all kinds of trade scenarios, the kind they thought we'd see in 2022-23.
I think his goal is to make the playoffs next season and keep adding talent.
Making a big trade like Minnesota, Cleveland and Phoenix has not proven to be a quick fix anyway, or even an improvement.
Denver has slowly added pieces to get to where they are now.

Dame just did a 30 min live again from the parking lot of the PF chiding all the people yelling at him to leave Portland. Kept going on and on about how insufferable he will be to all the media and people outside when he wins in Portland.

I really don't think anything has changed in the Dame equation

Portland will not trade Dame unless he asks to be traded. And whatever happens in the off-season, Dame is unlikely to ask out of Portland, no matter how you interpret what he's said lately
