more flexible joints...speed...he's not going to lose muscle mass....he'll maintain it and shed body fat
Highly doubt the speed, sure I believe you on the joints but man, he will lose muscle without that protein. Of course he will shed body fat but the energy factor is the big one.

Biggest difference will be in energy. Pretty scary when you consider Lillards already impressive stamina.

Plus on that list I look at the lifters, I don't believe that for one second. You aren't putting on muscle mass like that on a vegan diet and if you are, you're on the juice hardcore

Real men do whatever they want and care not for what whiney bitches think of them.

Thats roight. Real men want to eat meat.
What a bitch.

Carl Lewis is one of the most naturally talented athletes of all time. Dude barely lifted weights throughout his career. If he's your best example of someone who benefited from a specific diet, good luck separating out what effect it had on him. He's also well known as a highly litigious political aspirant, so again, good luck deciding which of his words are truthful.
I don't care about his personal life...that's not what I'm pointing out.....but hey.......maybe he's a jerk

I guess we are really gonna act like a vegan diet for an 82 game season is sustainable. I eat vegetables as everybody should but you can't tell me that's sustainable because it simply isn't when you are playing at an elite level every other night

Dude, there's a lot more to a vegan diet than just eating vegetables. You think all those protein shakes and powders weightlifters and body builders gulp down are made from cows?

Its generally whey, or casein. Sometimes soy. Too much soy will make your estrogen levels skyrocket though. I've even bought pea protein once that I took one drink of and almost puked , then through away.

Vegan diets can be very healthy.

Some vegans also avoid honey.

Just ate vegan lunch an having vegan dinner, but did eat egg this morning.

Oreos are my favorite vegan snack.

OK, for lunch I had a big salad of various greens, scallions, carrots, celery, roasted beets, peppers, avocado, black beans, tomatoes, pickled jalapeno, cilantro and a sprinkle of toasted pepitas. For dinner I am having a smaller green salad and some gazpacho I made from my garden - tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, cukes, scallions, basil, along with tomato juice, sherry vinegar, spices, salt. And a pita bread (white & whole wheat flour, salt, olive oil, yeast, water). Some fresh figs from my tree for dessert.

For dinner I had a medium-rare ribeye, side of baked potato, cottage cheese and asparagus.

beans, nuts and tofu

Yea, but then you have to eat like 500 grams of tofu, 400 grams of nuts and 1 cup of beans (which sounds disgusting) just to reach about ~130 grams of protein.

Idk, i think rich vegans have some secret delicious options we know nothing about.

no I know it's more than vegetables

He doesn't need the extra muscle to fight through screens, so he should be ok.

I know you like to say things to be a contrarian, or that you somehow are more knowledgeable than us or a pro athlete, but I don't think that extra 5 pounds on him is going to make a huge difference.

For reference, Stephen Curry weighs 190 pounds.

Real women eat whatever we want.

Cats, however, are obligatory carnivores. They evolved for tens of millions of years as carnivore. They can't digest carbohydrates or use plant oils for energy, nor can they convert beta-carotene to Vitamin A (which humans and dogs can).

If you're going to worry about estrogen levels skyrocketing from soy you should look at milk and cheese first. Pregnant cow lactation is full of estrogen and other hormones.

I know some athletes and mma fighters are vegan. There are health benefits but given the fact he plays an 82 game grueling season, hope he picks up meat again soon or his body might feel like shit playing at the elite level he does. I just don't see him sticking to this with how crazy an NBA season is, it's almost essential he breaks away from the vegan diet for that energy

Is certainly an uninformed opinion. How did Bill Walton play in college? He was the best player ever in college. And no let's not blame his foot issues on being vegetarian.
