Honestly, will anyone rank the Dame Years among the great periods of Blazer history? I mean it's not even top 4 for me. The last decade has pretty much dragged.
Agree with you 100% here ... Dame had some great moments but outside of the fluke WCF season that was just a shit show to watch against the Warriors, nothing from the TEAM stood out compared to the other runs the Blazers have made in the past. Great individual player, who was never around the right pieces to be on a truly great team.

He's had great individual performances. But I prefer watching great teams.

He never had a good team around him so it wasn't as good as it should have been.

how did prick played in his first game for milwaukee

Lillard hit a 3 right in Christie's grill. Bucks fans have never seen one of their players do that. Milwaukee shoots a ton of triples, but they're all off screens or open kick outs. Not 1 on 1 bust one off.
Read their posts today. They are absolutely aflame about Lillard. As they should be.

This feels like an old girlfriend you could no longer be with--but who you really still love--finding the love of her life with a really good guy for a happily-ever-after ending. Happy for her, but f*** it hurts.

I'm super happy for Dame. I'm happy for me getting to see two of my favorite players in the League together and one whom I wanted to draft over CJ (Giannis). So it's like peeking into an alternative timeline where we drafted Giannis. It's also a small market which I love. We punked Miami which I love and still chuckle about after interracting usually against my will with Miami fans on Blazer forums and especially on YouTube and Twitter/X. I am super happy for Dame and Milwaukee is my Team 1B after my young and exciting Blazers. This also allows Scoot and Sharpe to start on their journey towards superstardom. Things are good and becoming great!

So why blame Dame for that?

He can both be the greatest trailblazer of all time and notice the front office let him down.

The problem with titles like “greatest blazer of all time” is that they’re subjective. People prioritize different things when they consider value. I think he’s the best scorer in blazers history. I think he propped up some very very mediocre rosters. I think he did more with less and I don’t think Sheed or Drexler could have done as well with what Dame had. Not sure about Walton.

Clyde was very good. And he was a two-way player, although nothing great on defense. But he wasn't real efficient. If Dame would have had today's equivalent of Porter as a guard, Kersey as a SF, Buck as a PF, and Duckworth as a C with a bench equivalent of Ainge, Danny Young, Drazen, Cliff, and Wayne Cooper, Dame would have at least played in one finals, maybe more

Sheed isn't on the same level

Walton was spectacular when he was healthy, but he was very rarely healthy. Durability and longevity are part of the equation. And Walton left Portland as soon as he could...and sued Portland as well

I wouldn't even consider Sheed in the conversation.

Yeah - but Brandon Roy gave us those as well, and he's strangely glossed over.
How many years did he play more than 60 games,
did he win a 3pt contest? How many all star games?
How many all nba?
How many game winning buckets did he have? How many times did he score over 40?..50?

Yes he may be glossed over, but by no means is it strange…

Roy had ONE very good year. One. I swear people have crazy rose colored glasses for that dude. He averaged over 20 points in 2 seasons. Dame has only averaged under 20 points one time…. His rookie year. They’re just not even remotely on the same level.

Roy was fucking great! True warrior and gave this franchise everything his body would allow. Huge respect.

But don't forget, the teams Roy played on here were far superior to the teams Lillard played on.

Look at that 09-10 team:

Brandon Roy
LaMarcus Aldridge
Greg Oden
Andre Miller
Nicolas Batum
Travis Outlaw
Steve Blake
Martell Webster
Rudy Fernandez
Joel Przybilla
Jerryd Bayless
Dante Cunningham
Jeff Pendergraph
Juwan Howard
Ime Udoka

Well, Roy played defense and offense and he played in Sarge's very slow pace offense. I would also argue that people that knock Roy's teams lack of playoffs success gloss over the fact Roy mostly played on very young, inexperienced teams as a young, inexperienced player himself, we have seen how dame's teams went when the team was young and inexperienced, it was not a pretty sight.

So, IMHO, Roy is still underrated.

I don’t think Roy played long enough to be rated. I don’t think he can be overrated or underrated. He had three years and then he was hurt. That is simply not enough time.

However by that logic Walton can't be rated either. I do get what you're saying and BRoy never won us a championship or playoff series and he definitely was never league MVP but many people would say that Walton is the greatest Blazer ever and he played less games for us than Roy did.

Bullshit. This is the same reasoning that discounts Walton, who WAS the Greatest Blazer Ever.
Quality over quantity.

Don't get me wrong, Dame is almost certainly currently the starting PG on the greatest Blazer team, and I say that as someone whose fave Drexler-era Blazer was Terry Porter.
