In a weird way, I think the decision not to fine Dame is going to complicate things in the future. They're basically saying it's ok to critize the refs if they blow a call. Refs miss a lot of calls, therefore, other players are going to have a beef if they end up getting fined when Dame didn't.

I know right?Pretty sure that has nothing to do with it.
I think the variable is going to be "was it a judgement call or was it egregious" as well as the variable of how they approached it. The only questionable thing that may have really gotten him fined no matter what was the punk ass tweet. Other than that i thought his demeanor in the post game was really measured compared to his on court (which was pretty vociferous, but not like some coaches get. Had to get held back though).
Im trying to think of scenarios where the refs blew it this bad and still fined someone. I know on a BUNCH of non calls and criticizing it happens... But on one egregious one like this where the whole world knows it... They couldnt do anything.
The fucked up part is Scott Foster would have called that. Lmao.
The NBA has that center in Secaucus, NJ. They handle reviews and are watching all games. There should be a "for the good of the game" rule.Totally with you that I'm glad Dame didn't get fined.
I think from the NBA's standpoint, you want to have as clear and definable rules as possible. Where you draw that line for what egregious is vs bad or very bad can get tough. I just know if I were a player who critized an official less strongly than Dame did and got fined, I'd be a little confused.
I guess my overall point is that last night was a great example of why a more simlistic rule reduces confusion. If you could review any call in the last two minutes, the outcome would've been different (not saying we would've won). Likewise, if the NBA thinks they can pick and choose when it's ok to fine a player after they critize a ref, they're probably just going to lead to more angst.
Same with when someone clearly steps out of bounds (Blazers got fucked with that too a couple years ago). The NBA has that center in Secaucus, NJ. They handle reviews and are watching all games. There should be a "for the good of the game" rule.
If a play like that happens the head ref would get buzzed saying, review that shit, you potentially missed a big one there.

About what exactly? That Im not losing my mind over bad refs last night?
Did they lose to Minnesota, Phoenix, GS, NYK, Cavs, kings?
Could they have won more games with better defense?
I keep saying I get that call and the refs last night were bad, if you guys all want to be tell me Im not a fan or whatever because I just think as a team and organization there’s way more wrong with this season than last nights calls, then sure whatever.
Hoops was probably right I need to bifurcate last night and it in a microcosm vs the big picture of the season, and I get it, it was a bad call. Even if they give him an and one there the games not over though.
Yeah, it would be the equivalent of a ref not blowing his whistle on a questionable fumble in the NFL and letting the play finish before determining if it was a fumble or not.I really like this idea. In this scenario, I'm assuming the buzz wouldn't come until after a deadball?
If that is the case the big questions becomes: If you reverse the call, do you go back and pick the game back up from where the event in the replay occured or do you take the corrective action? I'm guessing you'd have erase everything that happened prior to the missed call, right?
Yeah wow he’s super pissed. You don’t see it very often at all. Usually he’s like he is on the court. Drain a dagger 3 in your face and game over he’s done with you, go home.He is SUPER PISSED!!
I'm not. Or Facebook. Or that other one.Did ya ever stop and think maybe not everyone is on twitter?
Im not bitter, and whats the agenda exactly? Never insulted Dame.I see you very proud of your agenda as you post it everywhere you can. And I understand you bitter ofc, bc season is fucked.
Two things tho:
1. What Damian is doing is above everything it has been done for this team ever. Your post is insulting him.
2. This game was SOLD and whole world should see it and investigation should be started. Fact, that Damian can tweet another punks ass shits over and over again shows they know it.
It's not just a game. It was purest example of sold game I ever seen.
Simons didnt land on his feet cause O'Neal is a dirty player who’s basketball ability is basically trying to hurt guys. Couldve easily hurt Melo with his crap out there too.I’m so sick of this team’s excuses!! My god, how much harder can Lillard and the rest of those misfits cry. Was it a bad call hell yes, but at the end of the day the Blazers have only themselves to blame. They were up big and blew the lead.
don’t go giving me the we were on the second night of a back to back shit with only 7 players because you started with 9. Jailblazers reared it’s ugly head as Ariza decided to go ape nuts for no fucking reason whatsoever, what a mental midget and Simmons should’ve stayed on his two feet.
this was a hard fought victory for the jazz. Dame needs to shut the hell up, and stop Blaming the refs. In the end it comes down to the fact that your idiot team couldn’t make enough plays. The play before, Mitchell makes a simple drive with no resistance for an easy layup, then on the last possession you had a wide open look at the corner three and it missed. Stop blaming the refs for your team sucking.
Pretty sure that has nothing to do with it.
It seems it does have something to do with it. I could not see twitter posts until i signed up and kept my twitter account active. You see i access this site from my computer and not my phone. If your phone has the ability to accept the twitter app then you are fine. Yes most everyone does indeed have a phone that does and that is what they use now. But that is not true for everyone. When was the last time you used a land line? I use one every day 20 to 30 times a day. If you are like me and only access this site through a desktop then you are probably accessing twitter through your desktop as well. Also after the recent changes to the way Twitter is formatted you have to figure out how to copy the links. But that is another issue altogether.Did ya ever stop and think maybe you don't need to be on twitter to see twitter posts ?
Are you seriously blaming O’Neale??! Lol, I guess you idiots are great at playing the victim. O’Neale is a Blue collar type player who earned everything he’s gotten in the nba who gives maximum effort. He doesn’t have a reputation of a dirty player and isn’t a dirty player, that was an unfortunate accident basketball is somewhat a contact sport where two competing players sometimes get tangled up. LmaoSimons didnt land on his feet cause O'Neal is a dirty player who’s basketball ability is basically trying to hurt guys. Couldve easily hurt Melo with his crap out there too.
I fully remember the jailblazer era Bozi, Sheed, Z-Bo, and that Ariza shenanigans was full on jailblazers shit. My god he reacted worse than Lillard did and he was barely touched.I’m slightly impressed. I’d assume this was a teenage troll post, but reaching back 20 years to the JailBlazers was either a lazy google search or some repressed anger from somewhere Post-Malone.
Ariza has been a Blazer about 15 minutes, so I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the rampant clubhouse regulation-breaking that got poor Trevor heated up.
If the refs “hadn’t fucked up” (which they did, they admitted, and it had significant impact) then this would’ve likely been a “hard-earned” L for the Jazz.
The wide open 3 you reference was wide open because a) there weren’t any timeouts to get our normally-11th-man, just-got-traded-back-as-salary-fodder backup to the backup PF who hasn’t played crunch time in his life shooting a corner 3. (To be fair to you, he is 2-16 lifetime...) and b) the swarms UTH had been throwing at Lillard without getting called for the entire game weren’t going to get called with 3 seconds left, so our best player didn’t get close to touching the ball. Leaving a scrub wide open. Good call by Quin, knowing how it was probably going to go.
Do teams playing the 2nd night of a b2b with 7 players (for whatever reason) and who aren’t getting foul calls to get easy points at the line...do *those* types of teams ever give up leads late? I’ll have to check some stats on that. Hypothesis only—it kinda fucking matters.
I did have to be logged in and have an active account yes. I don't use it much but i do have to be logged in. Maybe it's my system and fire walls or maybe it's just an archaic system but i have to be signed in. If i log off i do not see twitter posts other than they say "content not available". It's the only reason i even signed up to twitter in the first place. You don't have to be logged into a Twitter account to read embedded Tweets on a different site.
Yeah. That might be a good way. NFL reviews all scores and if there is a question the refs can move the ball to the correct field position and reset the play clock. Happens on INT's, Kick/Punt returns all the time. The NBA has that center in Secaucus, NJ. They handle reviews and are watching all games. There should be a "for the good of the game" rule.
If a play like that happens the head ref would get buzzed saying, review that shit, you potentially missed a big one there.
I would also take it a step further. Something should be done about the challenge. Really bad calls don't get challenged because the coach will not use his challenge in the first quarter.Same with when someone clearly steps out of bounds (Blazers got fucked with that too a couple years ago).
If you're going to have replay, might as well have rules that make it easier to get calls right.
I happen to work for a guy quite a bit who would agree with you completely. It's not just a game. It was purest example of sold game I ever seen.
Gotcha, that makes sense. Ive never had that issue.I did have to be logged in and have an active account yes. I don't use it much but i do have to be logged in. Yeah i don't do Facebook either. Instagram i do have an account but pretty much never go there. It has some good pictures though.I'm not. Or Facebook. Or that other one.
