I'm just curious is all. Remember, I'm a ardent defender of Dame, I'm not wanting to attack him.. just want to hear a story of someone who is around him way more than I will ever be (and chances are I'll never meet him) so it's just blatant curiosity.

Sly, I have a lot of respect for you, but to be implied that I was in any way racist is against my morals and values and I do not appreciate it in the slightest.
I really hope you're joking. I don't like to be told something that I so ardently defend against. You knew EXACTLY what I meant by the comment... as innocous as anything, and to say that I meant anything other than that is not cool in my book.

Whoa, I was not calling you racist. I said that comment was kinda racist. I did know EXACTLY what you meant by your comment and that's what made me a little nervous. A person in a different part of the country could be considered very articulate by members of his community and yet could be difficult for us to understand due to accent and pronunciation.

The thing is, I would say that about ANY person that I knew as a public figure. I literally don't see color. So you made an assumption that that is what I made. It clearly wasn't, it never would or will be, so regardless I don't know why it needed to be said. It just makes me look bad, when I clearly meant nothing other than it's a question. How is that fair to me? I obviously asked it as a question... a question I would ask about ANY public person like that. Hell, I posed it about Bernie Fucking Sanders. Color means NOTHING to me. Ethnicity doesn't could my judgement. I go by individual basis, I don't do the news thing and lump people together.

The Biden quote I posted, I honestly don't think Biden is a racist. I don't think Obama thinks Biden is a racist. But was what Biden said racist? Yes, it may have been unintentional, but it was racist.

Okay. Sorry, I have to defend myself when I feel like my morals and values are attacked. Whether implied or not... it's something I pride myself on to see everyone as equal in all facets. They deserve it until they, individually as one person, not a group of people, give me a reason not to.

Dame is the most popular player on the team. And the most visible. And the most marketable. He has a certain positive persona and reputation. I took the question to mean: Is he genuine? Is he too good to be true? Ethnic heritage has nothing to do with it. It's like asking if some white guy, say Kevin Love, or Kevin Love's dad, is really the egocentric douche some Portlanders contend he is; or is he just a misunderstood every man who loves Jesus, and America too? Only someone with first hand experience with them would know.

Biased because I'm close to him, but I can say that he is one cool guy. Very down to earth and chill despite all that social media activity. Knows where he came from, and it sounds cliche, but very humble and knows who was with him from day 1. I told you guys on here about asking him finally to put it to rest, is it DameTime (which I like) or LillardTime? He said LillardTime, because it represents more than just himself, his family. Now he told me this on a bus with nobody around. He wasn't trying to put out a false message.... he's just cool as hell. I've seen players join us and do a complete 180 personality wise as they went along, not with this kid. Real deal
