Btw it was Morey that signed Roco outta college and reacquired him in a trade. Hopefully he’s still attached to his boy. Something like McCollum a pick and Roco for Simmons and Green once he’s eligible to be traded.

Sixers don’t want Cj lmao they have better versions in Maxey and Curry

ya it would be green, not seth as a filler.

i just want to get rid of our FAs for some value before they potentially walk this summer. that's why i keep throwing roco/nurk in these ideas.

Also don't think Seth wants to be back in Portland. Apparently there was a lot of behind the scenes stuff with Seth when he was here and he was NOT happy. I'm not sure who he wasn't happy with, but he was never going to come back.

Also how funny is it that the article mentions Lillards alleged frustrations, includes his reduction in pick and rolls, and then talks up a trade for Ben Simmons. LOL.

blazers new gm needs to go full daryl morey, risk everything to gain everything and morey was never afraid to pull the trigger

everybody and i mean everybody except dame should be available for trade and if that fails miserably, we go into full rebuild, simple as that

neither simons or little have potential to be franchise players, so i dont really understand some of you

this should have been done long time ago and i dont know if its neil olshey or ownership or both, but fuck them both just in case
Agree 100%.

I

Come, on IF you trade for Simmons there is no plan to do a blowup, its a retool around Dame. So one of Ant or Nassir can go. I'd prefer to keep Ant because of his better shooting and we would lose CJ who is a good shooter as well - Nas 3pt shooting remains more in doubt. However Ant will need to get paid next yr and Nas has one more cheap yr next yr,

I’d keep Little. Fairly easily too. Higher ceiling and is size. 6’3” scoring guards are a dime a dozen

I still think Morey will want Roco

Hed probably want both Simons and Little

Or Roco and one of them along with CJ and picks

Dude has overcompensation issues.

cj mccollum, roco, simons/little + 1st round pick

roco isnt coming back anyway

morey has been saying hes not trading simmons unless they get an all-star for him

well see, this shit is 4d chess

it'll be interesting to see what chicago will take to make those changes. but if nance was getting 25+ mins and a consistent role, I think his play would justify that move completely. i'm slightly annoyed by how patient chauncey has been with a completely unproductive roco.
Chicago would get nothing. It would take a call and they'd be cool. Right now we're a hot mess and no one knows if 10 days will do shit for Dame. If we called Chicago and said they get to take the protections off of the pick they'd jump at it. GMs don't put the screws to each other just to be dicks very often, it gives them bad reputations. This would be us asking them to take higher potential value, so why would it take anything more than that?

As far as this trade goes I'd offer CJ and RoCo if that hasn't already been done with whatever filler they wanted to send back: Simmons, Reed and Joe lets say. If they wanted picks on top of that I'd try to just give them the 2024 1st and then a swap or two but if they demanded it I'd throw in the 2026 1st with lotto protection. I wouldn't ask for Green or Curry or anyone else that they're getting production out of currently. They can just add the players this pushes to the bench to their depth and rotation flexibility.

Justin Termine and Eddie Johnson think Dame wants out but he just not going to say it.

i dunno why but i keep waiting for another shoe to drop today. nothing is going to happen until DEC 15 at the earliest and Cronin prolly needs a while to settle in.

Simmons and Little kind of fit in the same mold, kind of a redundancy.

This team has been severely lacking in wing players who can switch and defend, especially in Chauncey's scheme. Keeping Little is paramount, especially if Roco is out too.

Shooting is easier to find than wing defense, and we'll have him on for another year on rookie scale compared to Simons.

According to https://www.prosportstransactions.com/basketball/DraftTrades/Future/Blazers.htm

The Blazers do not own a First Round pick of their own until 2027
They have Chicago's first round pick in 2022 (top 14 protected).

After that, they have 2nd round picks in the following years:

2022: 0
2023: 5
2024: 1 (Maybe - Protected Top 55(?))
2025: 1
2026: 1

So putting together a package for Simmons will be that much harder.

We do have the first round picks other than 2022 (protected tho). We don't have many 2nd rounders. You have it backwards.

you're misreading that website.

the only pick that we don't have full control over is the 1st to CHI in the larry nance deal. that pick goes to CHI if we make the playoffs this year. this kinda protection is on until 2028, but coverts to a second in 2028 if we miss the playoffs every year between now and 2028.

i dont blame ya. I keep checking in waiting for your bomb drop about a trade.

Time is going to go veeeerrrrrrryyyu vvvvvceeeerrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

sssssssssssssssssllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

id be willing to trade for kyrie if we cant get better fit (simmons)

hes a nutcase, but hes much better player than cj mccollum and he doesnt want to get vaccinated and hes of no use to brooklyn, so they might agree on a deal for cj mccollum

in that case, either move powell to the bench or trade him for a wing

This guy wonders if Lillard will expect Simmons to compensate for his own bad defense. He was once a big fan of Lillard's but really questions his effort.
"But that doesn't exonerate Lillard, who sets the tone for this entire franchise. And for too long, that tone has been deaf to defense. Let's say this Simmons deal does eventually happen and the Blazers suddenly become a contender on paper. Would Lillard then start to pull his weight, or would he just expect Simmons to do his dirty work for him? You can't hide forever in the NBA. Playoff offenses, certainly in deeper rounds, are going to spotlight the weakest link.
He is a defensive doormat, plain and simple, and it has never seemed to bother him enough to do anything about it. He doesn't contain penetration. He doesn't stay focused for full possessions. He doesn't consistently fight over or through screens. He's often out of position, even if it's just a step or two, somewhere between over-helping and not-helping at all. He doesn't sprint back in transition. "https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...icism-but-hes-at-the-core-of-blazers-problem/
