sure, dame was spectacular, hit some crazy half court shots, scored 11 last points, but giannis was 16/16, hit three 3-pointers and no-one can say his mvp is undeserved
dame deserved it too, but giannis being perfect is what got him the mvp
"giannis 3-pointers are equal to dames half court shots", cause we know dame has a long range and giannis cant shoot 3-pointers
I thought Dame was gonna win it till I found out Giannis was 16/16. But you guys make some great points. Big men in an all star game, most of those shots are complete gimme’s.
they were lucky shots, but they went in... i guess you could say: "giannis 3-pointers are equal to dames half court shots", cause we know dame has a long range and giannis cant shoot 3-pointers
dame didnt won the mvp, but he was "the highlight" of the all-star game, he was in the spotlight
I have no problem with Giannis winning. I thought that Giannis, Curry, Dame and CP3 all deserved consideration.
I’m not trying to be a dick, but who cares? Didn’t Like Mitch Richmond and Glen Rice win the award before? It doesn’t mean anything
I'm not trying to be a dick, but why click on this thread if you don't care?
I still can't believe Luka played 31 minutes. He was totally invisible.
He got 8 assists, but yeah, he was pretty much a non-factor otherwise. He was selected by the fans, so Snyder didn't have much option but to play him more minutes than the backups. The thing that pissed me off was Chris Paul getting ten more minutes than Dame. What the hell? If the fan vote is supposed to be so important, how does the league explain 2,848,663 for Dame vs. 391,667 for Paul, yet 21 minutes for Dame vs. 31 for CP3? What do you suppose Dame's point total would have been had he been given those extra minutes? Think it might have made an even stronger case for winning him the MVP?
Paul is old and getting ready to retire. Synder was giving him a last hurrah.
Yup. This is most likely his last All-Star game. That's how I saw it as well.
If LeBron hadn’t taken himself out of the game, I wonder how many minutes Dame would have gotten. That may be right. I remember when Magic was named MVP of the All Star game over Clyde. I sometimes wonder about giving extra recognition to the old guard at the expense of the younger guys. Clyde never won an ASG MVP. Magic had plenty of accolades by then. If Dame never wins an MVP, I’ll think about those minutes Paul was gifted and will wonder if that made the difference.

He banked in two out of three of his threes. Total luck.
Look at his shot chart. Like.... come on man.

Papers up here were all Dame so pretty much same same.Today's SF Chronicle was all Curry. Dame barely got a mention. Hope he remembers next time Blazers play GSW.
Funny to me but then I'm not normal....would it be poor taste to joke reply to OP subject title with "I thought Lloyd Center was closed"![]()
