When he saw the person he believed robbed him, a former NBA player and Georgia Tech standout fired gunshots from a black SUV, striking a 23-year-old woman.

Jones, a mother of four, was struck in the leg and later died during surgery. Two men walking with Jones fled and were not injured. Investigators believe one of those men was the intended target.

Investigators believe Crittenton may have been seeking retaliation after being robbed of his jewelry April 21, Meadows said. Crittenton reported that crime to police.

When was the last time Gilbert was seen?

How do you die from being shot in the leg!!??

Re: Former Bullet kills mother of 4

There aren't anymore Bullets. They stopped making bullets in the 90's. Now there's only wizards....

He was also the dude that some on this board wanted KP to sign after his injury and suspension. Of course, if he'd had helped the Blazers beat the Mavs, all would be cool with this same group of fans.

So you are saying instead of signing him we should have paid him to shoot our playoff opponents?

I 100% agree with this!

Guns don't kill people, Bullets do.

barfo

Is it murder if you meant to shoot one person but accidentally kill another? Isn't it just manslaughter?

Is attempted murder a higher penalty than manslaughter?

Umm..... no it's murder. From my understanding, manslaughter only applies to criminal negligence. He wasn't being negligent, he was intentionally shooting his gun at a group of people.

I think it will be voluntary manslaughter. He had intent to kill, but did not kill the person he actually killed with malice. If nothing else, his lawyers will take that plea

Depends on how much money he spends on a lawyer. A public defender wouldn't do any of the fancy stuff you're talking about.

"Felony Murder"

If someone dies in the commission of what would be considered a felony, then the bad guy is guilty of murder (as if premeditated). Example: (case my cousin sat in the jury for) Bad guy heads out with his posse to a bar where intended victim is with his posse with a plan to shoot the guy. Bad guy arrives and starts pushing people around in the intended victim's posse. A friend of the intended victim tries to step in, gets knocked down by the Bad Guy hits his head on a curb and dies. Bad guys is guilty of Felony Murder. Intent from the felonious plot is transferred to the accidental victim.

This basically came out of cases where a guy would go in to intentionally rob a store and ends up shooting someone at the scene. He had no premeditated intent to kill someone, but it didn't seem fair to let him off with manslaughter.
