Glad this happened. We might actually see some changes soon or this summer. Interesting he still has that barton trade on his mind but I understand as they were close. Time to shake this roster up. Trade CJ man. Dame is the man around here, build around him in his prime years, hail mary that shit like presti I don't care but it's obvious dame wants to bring a title to Portland. he isn't trying to leave. However if he is stuck in a couple more years of mediocrity he could very well ask for a trade. What also stood out to me here is the fact Allen himself was actually worried Dame might ask for a trade.

These next few weeks just got a looot more interesting. I’m expecting to see Portland brought up in a lot of trade rumors as Neil tries to save his ass.

I’d have Milwaukee and Utah on speed dial trying to work something out for Middleton, Parker and Hood.

That's why you gotta get rid of CJ and get what you can for guys like harkless, turner,Meyers.
They're not "getting" anything for those scrubs, The'll be "giving" plenty just to get rid of one or two of them. Unfortunately, there's not enough left in the bribery slush-fund to get rid of all three this summer.

I still remember last years deadline when everyone (including all the big media types) assumed Portland would be the most active team. Then Olshey gets on a phone interview after the deadline passed with no movement (except swapping one center for another) and he smugly starts joking about how quiet the phones were. Just infuriated me for some reason.

This is Lillard's worst shooting year. But it has forced our frontline to show their stuff, and they're better than advertised. Good thing Ed Davis made a comeback this season.

Lillard isn't making his demands from the position of strength he had last year. He's a peg lower on the totem pole. McCollum is about 10 feet lower, and is the most overpaid player in the NBA. Stotts' pigheadedness caused him to ignore Napier all this time, and Stotts still claims that Napier is merely a sometime-shotmaker, ignoring his playmaking.

I swear if we wake up February 8th to "Portland Trail Blazer star Damian Lillard traded to New York Knicks for Frank Ntilikina, Tim Hardaway Jr, Doug McDermott, and an undisclosed future first round pick" I will cry

Kevin Love is so far out the door in Cleveland right now that his agent has called to ask what's a good time to pick up his locker room sneakers. If Neil can't find a way to flip into a positive, a local star on a team that needs savvy veterans, then he's hopeless.

I think Neil is done here

Idk how we land Love without losing CJ. Unless the Cavs want a package of Davis, Moe, Vonleh, and a lottery protected 1st.

Exactly you wont get much for the three I mentioned but for CJ you could get some actual value

Imma laugh so hard if we have another deadline with no activity. In a sick way, I’m kinda hoping for it.

1. A Name Player, which this team desperately needs.

2. Great ability when properly motivated but has really been used well in Cleveland

3. Local connection which would help win some bored fans back

By the way the fucking local sports media is so trash, it takes a guy like haynes to get the scoop on this meeting? what is jason quick even for? jesus christ

Wow, Clippy. Rang the bell that time. But yeah, they are that trash.

I agree, I like Klove over DJ for sure but I don't know who is on this organizations radar and given how Cleveland is playing, they will want a lot for K love and that's not who I would give CJ up for but then again I think CJ if traded at all ever wont happen till the off season.

I don’t see it happening. Love has been Cleveland’s second best player. We’re not going to trade CJ for him and I don’t see a first and someone like Vonleh as being enough. Now if we offered up Collins...but I don’t want to do that either.

I just think we have to shorten our reach and start thinking about what's straight ahead of us. Not is what's around the next corner. We have to build a contender on Dame's current contract.

I hate how national basketball writers are spinning this. "Dame wants out", "he is gonna be traded".

Dame basically said in this meeting what he said to Haynes when he interviewed him. He just wants to win a title here while in his prime years. He wants to be the best blazer ever and unlike Lamarcus I believe Dame but at the same time I still believe if you don't make a serious change within the next two years, he will ask for one and I wouldn't blame him.

Yes, if you remember the thread announcing the Nurkic trade, while everyone adored Olshey, I tore into him for sleeping 20 months like Rip van Winkle did for 20 years. Everyone on the board was delighted over trading a starting center for a substitute one and getting a pick with it (so easy). Olshey trades only when forced by economics. He is even lazier than Pritchard.

Here's one of my later posts about the do-nothing Olshey.

He also managed to take three first round picks and turn it into only one piece that looks bright in Collins

My stance has been that Olshey plays it relatively safe. I don’t even know which trade I would label as his riskiest to date. Even trading up in the draft saved the team money. We’re bound to be stuck in the middle without taking any actual risks. I would start with CJ, but for Olshey, even trading someone like Aminu would be a start. I bet Plumlee would still be here if his contract situation was different.

If we'd had kept those draft picks and drafted Brooks and Bell, we'd have solved our wing problem for years to come and gotten someone else contributing down low.

If I could reverse time and know what I know now, you take Mitchell and Kuzma for sure, and Jordan Bell. There is your 3 picks. Trade CJ, Mitchell is your new SG.
