I almost bought a house there......as well as Coos Bay....glad I settled in the coastal range
All I can say is that you can catch some fucking humongous trout in Klamath Lake . . . other than that? Uh . . . probably a great place to catch a nasty case of the clap.

I can't understand why a mod doesn't change the title of the thread, seeing as it's doing the same thing the reporter was doing, which is misrepresenting what he said. You guys change thread titles all the time, why not this one?

How about, "Damian misrepresented, 'Good Luck' to Warriors quote taken out of context'

Weird I have to do your job for you.

Or just merged the Damn thing into the worst thread ever.

Because if someone only reads the title and not the rest of thread they get what they deserve. The title illustrates just how stupid and desperate Bleacher Report is, editing will destroy that.

I think you are interpreting his comment wrong. He is saying "good luck" to them if we get Melo 'cause he will destroy our chemistry and if Lillard can't win it all, his hometown team may as well win it.

We like to let users express themselves creatively. How they title their threads is personal expression, a window into their souls.

Lillard was clearly exhibiting good sportsmanship and was sincerely wishing the Golden State Warriors, honored sporting foes, good luck in future matches. Turning it into some kind of pride-fueled combativeness is just more media sensationalism.

Well done, Lillard. Sports means nothing without manners and honor.

Why doesn't Carmelo wait it out with the Knicks until his 2 year deal is up? Then, he can sign with the Warriors for the vet minimum.

Honestly, one of the only reasons I actually like the Carmelo idea is because he brings "street cred" to Portland in today's NBA. Maybe it will open Portland up to a place free agents actually want to sign. That is if were successful.

I think he'd immediately be our 4th strong option. I hope he'd settle to be a PF because thats where I think he's at in his career.

Other than that, I've never been a huge Melo fan. Solid scorer, but needs a lot of shots. No defense. The more fat and out of shape he gets the more I think he could bang as a PF.

That last sentence, I thought you were talking about LMA.

The players are all perfectly familiar with Portland, they all play here once or twice per year. Melo playing here won't add 'street cred' by itself, only winning a fuck-load of games and pushing the Warriors to the limit in a seven game series is going to turn Portland into a free agent destination.

Beyond that we're in total agreement; Melo isn't going to be some panacea, with his low-efficiency game, and shit-tier defense.

Portland played golden state better than pretty much anyone two years ago and it landed us...Evan Turner. It'll never be a destination unless they win a ring or an established superstar gets traded to them. Melo would be a start. Don't care what anyone thinks about him, Portland landing Melo would be the single most important trade the team has made in its history. Portland would be on the map like never before. Lillard and CJ would get their due credit. People/media would pay attention, thus leading to free agents paying attention etc etc

Pippen trade and the trade that got us the pick for Dame.

Speaking of BleacherReport I saw an article suggesting a Crabbe for Matthews swap. Personally I would do this in a heartbeat, but I hate Allen Crabbe and his contract so Im not without bias here. What do you guys think? Bring back Wessy Wes?

He's an old town favorite. I would want him back. Besides that, he has a name that belongs on a Spalding basketball.

A. Scottie Pippen being traded here was the biggest trade in team history, probably followed closely by Washington trading Rasheed Wallace, and finally trading trading Gerald Wallace for the pick that became Damian Lillard.
B) Landing Melo would certainly be a story, but it'd probably be more sizzle than steak. The motherfucker doesn't play defense, he's a ball-stopper on offense, he's inefficient, and at this point of his career, he's more 'name' than 'player.' It won't change the narrative, it won't make this team a contender, and it won't don't shit to attract free agents, because none of the fundamentals that drive free agency will have changed -- that is: Money (Portland has none to spend), a chance to compete for a title (maybe if Nurkic's star keeps ascending, but not because of Melo), and brand-building/wealth-building opportunities (state taxes here suck, and there's a few barriers to getting national media attention because it's seen as such a backwater).

EDIT:
By the way if I were Neil Olshey, I would trade for Melo if he'd agree to come here in heart beat, but only if 2 or 3 shitty contracts could be jettisoned in the deal.

Telfair for the pick to get Roy was also pretty big.
