Damian Lillard, the greatest Blazer of all time (1 Viewer)

So you watched a bunch of peak Drexler or Walton and decided Damian is anywhere near their level? Okie doke.
Can you read? did I ever say that? I said by the time he retires which is years down the line that I believe he will be the greatest Blazer ever. Which means titles, records, etc. Where did I ever say Damian tops Walton and Drexler at this very moment?

old people...

Get used to seeing that title be used when describing Dame one day when he retires. Two parts here. Appreciation and a call out. I wanna call out all these fans here who have a tendency to hate on Dame no matter if he does good or bad on the court. I see almost no positive things said about Dame these days. I don't know if it's because you get salty about the season or your life, whatever it is. Dame could do a lot of scoring and little assisting one game, "oh well he didn't pass enough, not a true PG". Or he could assist a ton and not score as much another game. "We needed Dame to score". No matter what, people always wanna make new threads trying to think of trade scenarios or they just wanna trash Dame and the "myth of Lillard time". Lillard time came from his performances in the 4th quarter. His back to back to back threes. Not the percentages. So get that bullshit off the forum. This guy lives year around here, has embraced Portland and is a true leader, class act, etc. Signed an extension with us when him and us didn't know how the team would do last season. This guy wants to stay here and here you guys are shitting all over him every game bitching about something. Yeah his defense isn't good, his shot selection is poor sometimes. What else can you possibly shit on him for? not much else. Averaged 26,6,5. Great pick and roll point guard, can pull up from the other side of the world, something only a handful of players can actually do. He only gets better. I bet you anything he brings a title to Portland before his career is over. I am proud to have this guy as my franchise leader and obviously a huge fan being one of the only ones to constantly defend him while everybody keeps talking shit. Perspective. Remember it.

I love Dame, but he has another 10,000 points to go before he's even considered the Blazers all-time scoring champ.

Is that so? depends on what you base it on. Titles or numbers. Drexler holds majority records , got us to finals twice. No titles. Some would say Bill Walton is the greatest Blazer of all time based off of the title he got us.

I didn't get a chance to watch Bill Walton play regularly as a Blazer as I was too young at the time. I watched him play later on and win a title with Bird and the Celtics.

But I watched The Glide play with our Blazers beginning from the start of his career until he was traded to the Rockets. Personally, Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter are easily my picks for the greatest Blazers of all time. Those early Rip City 80s/90s teams were fun to watch although heartbreaking during the Finals.

Heck, I even go to meet and talk with Clyde on several occasions as he made himself easily accessible to the fans.

You're kind of funny.

I read only the thread title, not the thread, but I assure you that Lillard is not the greatest Blazer of all time. The thrills he provides have been provided by many other stars over the last 47 years, and unlike him, many of them were on elite winning programs.

WELLLLLL SIR

within this post you will find that I am saying that this is what we will be calling him when he retires years and years from now

@Cippy91 are you saying that you think Lillard is our greatest player or that you want everyone else to think that too? Why so defensive? Just because everyone doesn't agree with doesn't invalidate your opinion of Dame.
I get confused whether you are being serious or joking, not sure yet. I think joking because everybody accuses me of this but I also wouldn't be surprised if it was brought up yet again. Mind fucked and triggered

My opinion is the only one that matters on this forum and if you don't think how I think you will be executed

He has a long way to go before he is.
Could he be one day? Very possible.
But that would mean he'd need to play his entire career for the Blazers, and that's just so very rare in the NBA today.
I hope it comes true though.

The greatest Blazer was Jerome Kersey.

RIP
For real though Jerome was very active in the community of Gresham which is why we got a day for him. I remember seeing him in middle school at west orient, everybody was fascinated. Powerful Jerome Kersey. I reached out to his daughter Kiara after he passed, she was always talking about her dad and just so proud of the dude

Oh the "he's too young" narrative. Because it's not like highlights and full games of walton or drexler aren't available on youtube or NBA tv. Okay...lol
No, because you've no idea, clearly. You're welcome to your opinion, but that the board is mocking you for a reason. Being indignant and pretending you've been watching games that happened 25-40 years ago isn't going to change posters impressions... it enforces them.

"the board is mocking you for a reason"
lol
I mean yeah a few people do and they are the old ones like you who are too stubborn in their own ways and think every young person is fucking retarded. You claim I am pretending I have seen games. How am I pretending? these games play on NBA tv and you can find them on youtube. I am not claiming I have seen the whole season and every single fucking game walton and drexler have played. So tell me who wants a problem? looks like you do

Not all of 'em, but some ...

Yeah and that's the thinking that's wrong with this world. I don't think every older person is retarded. I usually respect the older ones more. But when you're older and wanna try and shit all over somebody because they are younger and it's obvious that is the only reason, you're probably a failure of a person in your older life. Not you obviously, other dude.
