Yeah, if he made a trade request public... that would mean he's breaking with everything he's said before which also means he might play hardball. Long story short it would mean having to trade him soon and him losing value.

Which is exactly what has happened...the day Stotts was fired Dame said I love Terry and I miss him already.....they were like business partners....people who don't like Stotts don't think about the impact that had on him but it did impact him. nah i didn't care much about that pic. thought it was adorable lol. And i don't think CJ is disconnected to Dame this year-- he was working out with Beckner just yesterday and was training with Dame's guy in Tigard earlier (so was Simons/Blevins/etc). Haven't yet heard his podcast from yesterday but just like 2 weeks ago, he said he connects with Dame on a nearly daily basis.

Dame found his best friend dead during the pandemic and he called CJ first and CJ got there right away to be there for him. Dame may have realized that him and CJ aren't the best for each other on the court but their personal friendship hasn't been overblown.

This is a great point...Chauncey came out and gushed over Nurk and how he wanted to use him as a bigger role...Dame loves Nurk...Chauncey loves Nurk....this is a good selling point. Nurk and Dame are like family...vacation together...share a lot..I see them as a big part of our core identity for the next chapter of the Blazers...I'm convinced Neil re-signs Norm and trades CJ for a PF or wing...I also think CJ plays better without Dame....he needs to be a franchise player in the east...make the allstar team and build his own brand
