here's my logical read in all this in trying to sum up all the news/rumors/interviews.
1. Dame wants a legit chance to contend.
2. He wants to do it Portland.
3. He has been internally pressuring the FO to take more risks, but they have previously resisted (or haven't truly gone all in).
4. The way to address their conservative approach is to apply more pressure, this time through the media.
5. He realizes that has no leverage having signed a super max and is under contract for 4 more years.
6. He and his family are fully committed to the city and they can't simply uproot everyone (he bought his mom/dad houses, bought acres of land for a farm/compound of sorts, has a ton of cousins working in town in various professions, sister who went to and played at Lakeridge high school, brother who coaches football at Jefferson, fiance who started a business, etc, etc)
7. We know Dame is a family guy and will not want to be away from them, especially when he's about to get married and has three kids.
8. The one bullet he has to continue to keep the FO on its toes is hinting of a trade request/demand.
9. He can't fully back away and all out deny that if he wants to maintain a level of pressure.
