so getting to the western conf finals for the first time in 14 years didn't make you happy? that sucks...I was thrilled to see it..and we did it with a one armed center who was fasting and Evan Turner...
Nope. We had no chance against the Warriors.

It does not appear to have made Dame happy for that long either.

It is easy enough for a fan to say he built an empire and should kill his soul.and accept the fact that he won't really have much of a chance at a title in his prime. For people that work their entire life to get to where he is aren't generally wired that way. He wants a ring. He won't get one here.

Dame..."I've already won. I have everything I ever wanted.wealth.a 14k sqft mansion..a beautiful wife who's my best friend...8 siblings and cousins who all live close to me.My mom around the corner..a boat on the river..every car I've ever wanted...an organic farm that I'm directly involved in..a Toyota dealership...a massive Addidas deal around the corner....the keys to an NBA franchise..3 children...playing hoops with my best friends, a recording deal and access to Paul Allen's hollywood studio....an Olympic gold medal...all NBA..multiple allstar nods...big movie role in Space Jam 2....now since we got beat by Denver I better move to Philly to get a little tiny ring....give up all my empire to chase it and go against everything I've preached since.. being here....greatest Blazer ever.." as if twitter is going to impact his life that drastically...nah

I'm thinking things will evolve one way or the other after this coming season? There still could be a move or two that could help get us in contention?

you actually believe this or is just sensationalizing a bit....there's no reason we can't do exactly what the Bucks did but everything has to fall into place..that's the fun of the journey...the championship keeps guys working..to get a shot. No reason we can't win one here at all...all these ultimatums are just fan driven. Lot of hype over nothing really.

Not really. I would love for us to win one. I'm not a pie in the sky person like you typically are. That's fine. Given who is our GM is, the fact that we are Portland and guys don't want to come here that are different makers, and the lack of assets we have, isn't going to happen for Dame here. Certainly not in his prime.

Chris Paul after many teams and coaches and rosters just got his first finals at 37 and fell short.he chased rings with superstars..has nothing to do with his greatness and stellar career...and 37 is also a bit past a pt guard's prime as well..Dame is only 31..he absolutely can win it all in his prime..Chauncey didn't win his right away either..Norm and Chauncey have rings...that's winning culture

37 isn't prime. Cp3 had to move teams and played with a former #1 pick in Ayton and an all world player in Booker. Dame has never had a teammate as good as Booker. We won't get him a Booker unless its in the draft and with Dame on our team the likelihood of having a high enough pick to get someone with that kind of talent is very unlikely. We had our shot and took Collins instead of John Collins, Bam Adebayo or even Donovon Mitchell (all guys still not as good as Devin Booker)

my pt is CP3 got a shot at a ring at 37....Dame just turned 31...it's not desperation in the Lillard tragectory to win a chip...he has many seasons to try and I'll enjoy watching that unfold I never said Paul was prime...the point was that Dame's not past his prime or even close to it

Pretty obvious based on his press conferences his frustration is growing. He may have more seasons to try, they likely won't be for us with Olshey content to trot out teams with no chance at winning a title.

nah...not sold on that narrative..

to be fair I believe we were up by at least 10 every game, and then they clamped down and Stotts had no adjustments

They swept us without their best player KD.

Nobody with any sense thought we were a threat to them.
They swept us with our starting center's leg snapped off and a backup with a broken collarbone who couldn't eat or drink water during the daytime for the whole series....I'd say we were at a disadvantage..and Dame's abdominal strain began with that series. We were gassed after the Denver marathon with 4 OTs...or whatever it was...that was a grind before we had the Warriors
We limped into that finals on CJs stellar performance in Denver

Even if we had Nurkic and a healthy Kanter (how was Kanter in the playoffs this year?), they had Durant out. Durant is the best player in the league. Was top 3ish that year.

Also Meyers scored 30 in game 4.

No Chance. Swept.

That was like getting wasted (and I apologize given your history... just for metaphors sake) and go and finally get laid that night. Freaking great in the moment, but then you realize you just slept with Rosie O'Donnells stunt double.

Wait. So for the Denver series it was great to overcome, but for GS it's an excuse?

Smh my head.

Dame had separated ribs too. And it showed.

You mean the one that Lillard said wasn't affecting his game?

Just stop. They swept us and had their best player out. Cousins was out. Iggy was battling injuries.

fuck no..we limped into that series and were gassed and beat up...no surprise there but the Denver series was fucking epic and really fun to watch...I don't forget those...there haven't been that many....it was awesome...

Oh people have defended. Everyone should be anti olshey at this point. These are just facts of life.

No, actually the facts of life was just a tv show.

but at least now i know the true definition of what a fact is.
Now i need to go write websters and tell them that they have the definition wrong and its a fact. I was informed so by you. ;)

Nurk was a beast that year and helped the Blazers to a 2 - 2 record vs. GS with Durant. You stop, and get to the litter box right now! You're obviously constipated and cranky.

We have been through this convo like 10 pages back.

Playoff basketball and regular season basketball is not the same thing.

Didn't say it was. But with no Durant in that series, had the Blazers had Nurk, i believe they would have beat the Warriors that year. Nurk was a way different force than he's been since the injury. Hopefully the "magical" 2 years removed theory pans out for him & us, and Billips & Staff get more from him. But you can't say NO WAY the Blazers "With" a healthy Nurk, couldn't have advanced. Cause none of us know. It's the NO WAY B.S. that we object to. Meow.

Literally have nothing to say to this. Homerism in all of its glory.

Ric bucher was just in Colin cowherd talking about the draymond Kd interview yesterday. Thought it was really weird how draymond through Steve Kerr abd bob myers under the bus..said there was no reason to do that and now there’s a lot of damage control going on.
He said….one reason draymond might’ve did this was because he may want to move on. Said that draymond put himself in jeopardy of being a warrior.
and….brought up how close dame and draymond are how bad dame wants him in Portland.

just some drama to spice up the day

i can agree with that. Soooo little margin for error in our market. I also think that's why he may be hesitant to pull the trigger on cj. If it goes wrong he is completely screwed. Currently at least he is a winning team percentage wise. So he is playing that safe.
Not saying that i agree with it. Just that i think its part of his decision making.

Just because a trade hasn't happened doesn't mean he's hesitant to pull the trigger. :dunno:

It seems to me that he isn't making a trade just to make a trade.

You think he wants to pay what Moron is asking for the guy who shoots with the wrong hand?

Yup. I think it happens. Who knows. Maybe the Warriors take CJ. They were talking about trying to add Dame, so maybe they think it can work with their team.

I think if it happens, it's done in a 3 team deal, bringing Simmons to GS. CJ to Philly, Green to the Blazers. I think that helps Philly & Portland for sure. It's to be seen, if Mr. Nightlife really cares about the game.

I certainly think that 3 way trade makes the most sense if simmons throws a fit about coming to Portland. I just wonder if GSW go screw it, we like Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody too much to let them go and we will incorporate CJ into our team instead of consolidating for Ben.

If it happens, and is a 1-1 deal, that would open up space to use the full MLE. If there's anyone worth it.
