Zombie Damian Lillard to request trade in coming days (nope, he's not.)

I certainly think that 3 way trade makes the most sense if simmons throws a fit about coming to Portland. I just wonder if GSW go screw it, we like Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody too much to let them go and we will incorporate CJ into our team instead of consolidating for Ben.
I think if they are willing to part with Green, they almost have to be wanting Simmons to fill a similar role. None of their young players can, IMO .

Just because a trade hasn't happened doesn't mean he's hesitant to pull the trigger. :dunno:

It seems to me that he isn't making a trade just to make a trade.

You think he wants to pay what Moron is asking for the guy who shoots with the wrong hand?

ohh hell no. Thats kinda my point. He isnt gonna just make a trade to make a trade. He knows there is little room for error so he must make sure the trade improves the team or it will probably be the wrist slit that ends his tenure here.
So its not easy for him. Tough spot to be in. Not many options and little room for error, makes it so he isnt just gonna roll over the roster every year, Regardless of visible needs.

Sometimes a patient sniper is better than a blast from a tommy gun.

Ignore the clickbait title of the video. Apparently GP talked to Dame recently: starts at the 9:30 mark.

"Dame is from where I am from. We built from the same cloth. We are so loyal that when a team drafts me, we want to stay and be a team player. You treat me right, you get players around me... we're fine. But when it comes to a point about superteams, or if you can get more money in a bigger market, or get another supermarket--- why not go? I just don't think Dame is built like that. He likes to be by himself and build a championship team. He did the same thing his in Weber when he was recruited after he freshman year to bigger school but he was loyal. That's my young guy-- love him to death, talked to him the other day. That's what he wants. He wants Portland to build a team and for them to prove that they win it. He's not the guy to grab another superstar and tell him to plot a new destination to team up on."

Yeah that’s good and all but if a great player wants to come here to try to win a championship Dame better be willing to build it with them.
At some point the Blazers need another All-Star.

i didn't get that takeaway. I read it as Dame isnt down with teaming up with others to move to a new city. He wants them to come to Portland and build with him here.
I highly doubt Dame would have any issue with another allstar saying they want to join Dame in Ptown.

Bruh... Reading is FUNDAMENTAL...

I could see us trading Roco and DJJ for Draymond Greene....that would make Dame happy..Draymond and Nurk could really anchor our 3 headed guard lineup..Draymond could light a fire under Greg Brown as well

Im starting to want to make it happen.

I could see Golden State turning that down very, very quickly. Good trade for Portland, though.

I'm listening to CJ on the Woj Pod, and regarding Dame, CJ is saying:

- Dame's goal is to win the Championship.
- He's all in.
- He wants to do it in Portland.
- CJ is trying to improve personally.
- Chauncey has a good idea of what it takes to win.

So he's not the guy to grab another superstar and tell him to plot to come to the Blazers to team up on?
You see where this goes?
It ain't about reading. It's about Dame being willing to play next to another superstar and give him his due. CJ is all willing to play second fiddle. A real superstar (Not a washed Melo) might be a different story. What would happen with Harden in Portland. Many wanted it just last year?
Personally i think Dame can do it. Lets hope so if the chance ever comes.

Dame is playing in Weber alumni game today. Beckner is there as well as well as Dame's boxing trainer from Tigard. Also looks like Blevins/Ant/Nas are there with Mikal Bridges (?). Wonder if they're playing or just training.

clearly they're all prepping to be traded as a group.

I found it funny that Colin didn't seem to push the narrative of Damian leaving, once GP was like "yeah, that's not how he works".

at a out the 710 mark they speak of Simmons.

pretty much saying what i say. Its about confidence and Simmons has lost it.

Yep. Confidence issue. It will not last. At least i hope not for his sake.

i hope you are right but sometimes it derails a player. I think that was always nic batums issue. He could have been a grant hill, penny hardaway type player but lacked the confidence… and never gained it.
Some players over come and get it back but i think more often than not, once its been had and the. Lost, very hard to get it back again.

but mostly what grts me about him is how he ran instead of faced the scrutiny and admitted he has work to do.

Thats the main reason im wanting to pass on him unless its just for cj straight up. He has shown no indicTion that he recognizes he has to work on some things. Without that acknowledgement i dont think he will be able to improve his shooting even if he gets some confidence back. He has work to put in and if he doesn't recognize, that he is lost.

I think Mr. Nightlife needs to decide what's really important. If it's the game, he needs to work like never before, and if he's traded, come in with an open mind, and work for the goal. If it's all about the lifestyle, then he has potential to become a cancer & malcontent. His career is really on the fence after that debacle in the playoffs. He's the only one who can make it go away.

Neat article/interview in the June Mens Journal, with Dame.
Share a couple of quotes:
Q:Your loyalty to Small markets has made you beloved nationally. Do you carry that small-town attitude with you?
D: "I do carry that with me, but its not like Im doing it on purpose. What it comes down to is I don't view myself as a big deal. Im aware of everything that's happening, the endorsements and playing in the all star game and being on the cover of video games. But its hard to look at that and be full of myself when my relationships and people around me-my cousins, mom, childhood friends, brother, - all feel normal".

Q: So you like Forrest Gump and he had an impact on your life?
D: "I feel like Forrest Gump! This dude was an all American football player, came up with "shit happens" and invested in Apple in 1994, and all this stuff but he just wanted to mow the lawn for free, you know what i'm saying? And it wasn't like he was trying to play no role, it was just like this is who he is. He didn't view himself like everybody else did. And I think thats what it is for me".

Why hasn't this thread died out of natural causes?

Hazelnut nuegut in dark chocolate

rasberry creme….

Milk chocolate truffle…

sea salted caramel…

peanut cluster…
