I hope Dame sees Ric Butcher’s commentary on why he shouldn’t leave the Blazers:
This plus Dame's investment in Portland is way beyond basketball..he has several businesses in his back yard right now....he's not trading that for a brownstone in Brooklyn anytime soon. For what it's worth....Kevin Garnett killed the Wolves franchise to go ring chasing in Boston.....what's the great achievement in that?Bucher is 100% right. Until Dame plays on both ends, it won't matter where he goes.
Plus Id be willing to bet far more players ring chase and lose than ring chase and win.
So that's a dumb argument for those two guys to make.

The thing that's funny is, most of these media guys have never been to Portland. Never seen that it's a TOP 5 NBA town. Never experienced Blazermania. They just don't get it. I've been to LA. Sure the theme parks are fun, but the traffic, smog, fake ness, and entitlement is a total turnoff. And there are entirely too many mutha fucks to deal with. Portland is a great city, with a great vibe. And after living in Denver, Honolulu, San Antonio, Eugene/Springfield, & Cheyenne Wy., no more friendlier people (even today) than any of those other places. And it ain't close. This plus Dame's investment in Portland is way beyond basketball..he has several businesses in his back yard right now....he's not trading that for a brownstone in Brooklyn anytime soon. For what it's worth....Kevin Garnett killed the Wolves franchise to go ring chasing in Boston.....what's the great achievement in that?
Dude?
When @AldoTrapani says, “Try to look at the positive” the world has been flipped upside down………What? If the guy wants to leave what are you going to do? Try to look at the positive. He’ll be 33 or 34 years old. Ah well

Live from '94-'18 in Aurora. '18-'19 Northglenn. Just moved back to Colorado(Lakewood) in May, after a 2 & 1/2 yr. stay in Eugene/Springfield. Hoping to get back to Portland once my financials are in good shape. Fingers crossed. Delivered/pickup in Colorado Springs in the Spring of '15. I love Manitou Springs.where abouts in denver did you live? Used to head up there often when i lived in colo springs and Pueblo. Used to hang alot in the Lotus. Head up to Boulder until they issued the no smoking out doors things. But this was all many many moons ago. Tons of great memories of living there though. I was primarily at the foothills near Norad.
Alright! You guys are giving me some good ideas for next month’s road trip. I actually was tentatively planning to stay in Manitou Springs on my way back west. Is Leadville worth checking out? Along with that general area? Inquiring minds want to know…….Live from '94-'18 in Aurora. '18-'19 Northglenn. Leadville is a quirky little town at over 10 thousand ft. Mt. Massive, & Mt. Elbert (14ers), rise to the west. Good fishing near there. Take Independence Pass to Aspen. Serious drop offs with no guardrails, but worth the ride.Alright! You guys are giving me some good ideas for next month’s road trip. Exactly why I’m going the end of September…..autumn in the mountains. Too, other than my fellow retirees (and foreign tourists) everyone else is back in school or at work……or at least what passes for such these days…….I appreciate all the suggestions!September is a perfect month to visit. The leaves are starting to really peak, color wise, Middle to late in the month. Bring a warm coat for the cooler nights in the mountain towns. Denver is still hot in September, 90's potentially most of month. But an hour west in the mountains, and it's 60's. With 30's potential at night.
You betcha. Oregon & Colorado are my favorite places. I love to share that kind of stuff.Exactly why I’m going the end of September…..autumn in the mountains. Philadelphia has its eyes set on Portland All-NBA guard Damian Lillard, sources say, but the Trail Blazers have fully focused on continuing to build around Lillard. As of now, Lillard is continuing to evaluate the Trail Blazers’ present and future and is slated to begin training camp with the organization. In some ways, the 76ers are stuck between deciding whether to make a move now with Simmons — or waiting until a star like Lillard shakes free.

We'll see. I think in a month if Simmons is sitting out training camp and therefore lowering his trade value more than Doc and Embiid already did, then your analogy will be correct but if Morey pulls off a deal before training camp, having waited to see what the very best he can get is before further damage is done, then he's not been stupid.I really think Morey is dropping the ball on this one. I'm not even convinced we would want to trade Dame to Philly. Also, it's not like things with Simmons are tenable right now. His house is on fire and he's sitting on the front lawn reading about his penny stocks.
Morey can wait till Hell freezes over. But his ass will feel like he's in Hell, if he doesn't trade Mr. Nightlife. At this point i don't see him even getting a talent as good as CJ in return. Morey will end up feeling what it's like to be Houston, with the Harden Sitch. Receiving back decent talent & future draft picks. But nothing to help Embiid get any closer to a ring.Philadelphia has its eyes set on Portland All-NBA guard Damian Lillard, sources say, but the Trail Blazers have fully focused on continuing to build around Lillard. Yeah, there's no way that Dame is moved until the deadline at the earliest and by then I think Simmons' value will have tanked so much that there would be no package they could put together around him that is worthy of Dame... I actually don't think there's really a good package from the Sixers for Dame right now unless we're planning on a complete blowup and rebuild. If he's truly waiting on Dame, then he's a moron. We aren't trading Dame before the season. Hell, we might not trade him until next offseason if he decides he wants out. I don't think the Simmons situation can wait a year.
