Zombie Damian Lillard to request trade in coming days (nope, he's not.)

Bradley.

Beal.

So we want to improve the backcourt on defense, and size, by adding Bradley Beal? the 111th worst defender at his position? Not sure his confidence makes up for that (like CJ's confidence doesn't make up for his shitty defense either)

It's not that he's wanting to be traded, it's that he's wanting to compete for a title and realizing that just isn't going to happen here.
UGH. You don't know that. I'm so sick of hearing the Nat'l Media and their absolutes. The only absolute, is that no one on this earth knows absolutely, who's gonna win next year's title. The Lakers with Mr. Glass, and Father time steering LeBron in the Face. And what about their merry mix of role players. Whoopty doo. The Nets? Sure on paper. Butthey aren't the cult of good health, anymore than this Blazers team. The Mav's? Oh i guess Barbara Eden is gonna do her Genie act, and boing a good bunch of supporting cast there. Utah? Supposedly Donovan Mitchell is more frustrated in Utah than Dame is in PDX. Philadelphia? Dame could get traded there, and Embiid's trick knee gives all out. No trophy there. The Knicks? REALLY? Atlanta? Nice young team, but will they re-sign Collins. Young avoided Collins like the plague last year, in favor of feeding Capella. The Heat? So another super star is gonna join them. How? Without including Bam, i sure as hell ain't trading a top player to them. Phoenix? Nice young team, who may still win this year, but the Blazers were never completely healthy vs. them, and they don't scare me. The Bucks are the only team that really gave Our Boyz trouble last year. Blazer weren't really that competitive against them. But add some new pieces and who know. With new coaching and a sense of urgency, a few quality additions,i can see the Blazers competing as good as anyone out there. But Dame has to be in Portland for that to happen. The grass ain't always greener.

I'm not saying that you said they did but people who have been watching this team that still think that the Dame/CJ back court can work are absolutely either kidding themselves or don't know what they're watching. I don't think it will matter anymore because the writing is on the wall that CJ will be moved but if anyone is saying that we just need to add some more pieces around a core whose 1, 2 and 3 options are Dame, CJ and Nurk; that person isn't watching and doesn't believe that Dame knows what he's seeing on the court and that he's somehow flipped from one of the most positive guys in the league to being delusionally negative.

interesting that no leaks have come from either camp on the meeting in vegas on Friday.

it appeared as if the meeting was supposed to happen before the craziness that day, but you figure there woulda been some damage control from Olshey.

I find it normal, despite very recent history there have almost never been reported leaks from Dame's side and Olshey's front office is known for being very good at controlling information.

David Thorpe of True Hoop sounded all butthurt on Gottlieb's show today. Talking about his boy Abbott , and how all the hints were there. I guess True Hoop are BBall Cyber Specialist. When a player farts, True Hoops is there to tell you what it all means.

can portland disown Colin Cowherd?

I watched the interview live, and Cowherd is so two face . He always says, " I love Portland", as he stabs it in the back by lobbying for it's Greatest player to get out of town ASAP! I mean he's been jonesing for Dame to be traded. Then he doesn't even come close to saying that shit to Enes.

I'm fairly certain most of us did years ago, and he's a Washington boy anyways.
It’s really too bad because I knew him when he was at 1080 and KGW. Actually a really nice guy. When I was interning at 1080 I would sometimes come into the studio early and watch his show. Since internships don’t make any money, I was also working out at the airport. He went out of the way to come up and say hi one day. I didn’t even think he knew who I was. He also helped me get an internships at KGW. I chose not to do it but he was a real solid guy. He has clearly changed. I have read a lot of unflattering things about him since he became a big national guy. Fame changes people I guess.

It totally went to his head. remember when he first started at FSN, and he totally had dyed his hair??

Guy is no better than Skip Bayless, in that he's a loud mouth who never admits they got something wrong and comes off as a tool.

But sadly it works and he makes a lot of money.

Abbott doubling down? Guy needs to quit while he is ahead behind.

He used to post insider information on educk(probably the first major Ducks message board). He went by the name of dunthorpe. That stopped when he went national. He wasn't contentious on that forum, mainly just posted info.

Way to much smoke for there not to be some fire. Dame could easily shut this down but unlike his normal answers the new answers leave him an out. I really think he’s 60% out the door. Only way to keep him is add a another star and just don’t theres anyone out there that we can get

The only smoke here is that Dame lost a playoff series he felt we should win and we fired a guy he was partnered with and was his friend for almost a decade....that's the Dame emo hangover...he'll get his head around it and Chauncey will inspire him moving ahead...there's no fire except for the fan reaction and lobbying from big markets to get him to come to their team....that's not smoke and fire...that's smoke and mirrors

How can you say he never admits when he's wrong when he's literally got a "Where Colin was wrong" segment on his show every Monday?

lol....yeah, one of his commercials has him saying "what I say is often wrong but that's my job".

Well, that's always true, so long as the "quality additions" are all-NBA players (like Chris Paul). And I'd love to hear how Olshey, with far fewer resources than in past years, suddenly outdoes all of his acquisitions put together.

he admits he's wrong, but always highlights the times he's right while admitting he's wrong.

have you ever watched Bradley Beal play?
As much as I could given that the Wizards have been consistent losers in his time there. (If Russell Westbrook is what finally drags your team to the playoffs, how good are you?)

Wouldn't it be nice, if we're trading CJ, to get somebody who can actually play SOME defense?

why would Dame shut anything down? The uncertainty is the only way he can put public pressure on Olshey to do his fucking job and try and build a contender. For several years now, a lot of people have been calling for Dame to put management on notice and put pressure on them to quit trotting out the status quo every season. He's finally doing that very thing and now people are wishing he'd back off

It’s like Russell Westbrook sucks or something around here?
The guy is one of the most dynamic athletes in the game.
