Zombie Damian Lillard to request trade in coming days (nope, he's not.)

Dame has gone on record stating he has talked with both Jody and Neil. If anyone knows where his head is at its those two.
When all the shit was swirling about Wilson wanting out, there were conversation and things settled down.
Dame is the type of dude that if he decides he needs a change he would do what he could in helping the team acquire assets through a trade.
I ask myself if I was 31 a multi millionaire and revered by local and national fans and my contract was up in three years, Id probably think about experiencing somewhere new, unless my women absolutely refused to move the fam. I like new experiences in life and have enjoyed living at times in different cities than Portland.
Look, you got billionaires going to space for new challenges, nothing wrong with young people/professionals wanting new horizons.

Few team executives expect a Dame deal to happen this offseason. But multiple front-office sources say the Heat, Kings, Knicks, Rockets, and Sixers have recently been the most aggressive suitors.

Front-office executives say that if the Blazers eventually move Lillard, they can expect a return rivaling or surpassing what the Nets gave up for James Harden: multiple young players, plus three first-round picks and four first-round pick swaps. Harden is a former MVP, but he had only two guaranteed seasons left on his contract at the time of the trade. Portland could do even better because Lillard has four seasons remaining on his contract worth a grand total of $176 million. The long-term security in Lillard’s contract could lead to more interest from teams and more return in a trade.

The Blazers don’t have much value to offer in trades, though. They don’t have their first-round pick this year, and a team betting against Dame staying long term needs their future firsts. Anfernee Simons and Nassir Little are their two most valuable young players, but teams aren’t all that high on them. Moving a veteran like Nurkic or Covington could net multiple valuable players in return as opposed to one better individual.

The KANGS? Rockets??

Is Houston trying to trade us Wall + Whatever picks they got from Harden?

and if I was 31, multi millionaire (etc), i'd be like "you know, the grass isn't greener"

As much as I could given that the Wizards have been consistent losers in his time there. (If Russell Westbrook is what finally drags your team to the playoffs, how good are you?)

Wouldn't it be nice, if we're trading CJ, to get somebody who can actually play SOME defense?

yeah sure I agree with you about defense but if you can get Bradley Beal…you get him. He’s an all nba type player ‍♂️

how does someone write this article?

Like Dame would welcome a move to teams worse than us in worse financial situations? Why the Knicks repeatedly keep getting brought up is baffling to me. They're perpetually worse than us and still have the shitty ownership they always did (which has always been the underlying reason for their demise).

this KOC dude has become a hack.

It’s like Russell Westbrook sucks or something around here?
The guy is one of the most dynamic athletes in the game.
He's a great player, but on the court, he's a total tool. And very unlikable.

He’s citing league executives. Not saying he thinks.

I think his opinions are garbage, but he does talk to people that work with teams. No idea why they talk to him, but it is what it is.

Thats kind of what he's been saying over the years about his path. And, it is different strokes for different folks.
But, the grass can be greener in my neighborhood, some are dried out and some are greener than others.
Life is a journey and its cool to pitch your tent from place to place if thats what one wishes to do.

It totally went to his head. remember when he first started at FSN, and he totally had dyed his hair??

Guy is no better than Skip Bayless, in that he's a loud mouth who never admits they got something wrong and comes off as a tool.

Funny thing though Fellas. Dame DID build a Nat'l Brand in Portland. Does have the endorsements. And my Media friends, California has a 13.3 % state tax rate for top earners, New York has a 10.9% for top earners, and Little Ol' Oregon has a 9.9% state tax for top earners. So if I do the math, Dame would have to fork out more Dolla to work in those 2 Media Markets, plus the cost of living is WAYYYY More in those 2 states, even though it's high in Oregon too. He really doesn't need to go to a major market, other than the fact, which i know is obvious, that too many NBA players overlook how great a place and Basketball Mecca Portland is. And Oregon's Colleges aren't basketball chop liver either. So if other NBA stars remove their smog filled, fake persona , big city hoopla glasses, maybe they should try to join Dame in rip city! You're gonna get paid, and you can always spend the offseason elsewhere. But chances are, the Oregon way of life will grow on you. And maybe, you just may stay.

The tax thing is always overblown. Dame is going to get taxed on most of his stuff where he creates nexus for business activities, where the games are being played, and where his residency is.

If he calls oregon his residency even if he went to the lakers (makes sense with his massive home, the comments holdahl said, his businesses in oregon etc.) California taxes him on games played in california. Then, california gives him a credit for mutually taxes income on the california nonresident return.

While he might pay more, it isn't as much as people try to say about someone like Lillard. A superstar bringing in massive money.

Stephen A. & Max mentioned the Tax stuff. They Mentioned the Brand stuff. They seem to think it matters.

Do you believe everything those guys say? The media always pushes it as a big deal. It isn't as big of a deal as they think. I just told you what matters. If someone is paying taxes in california as a nonresident, they get a tax credit for mutually taxed income to offset some of that.

The brand stuff, i think it is reasonable to say more opportunities will be there for someone in LA than Portland.

Potentially, but he's done what NO OTHER Blazers player has done as far as Nat'l Endorsement deals goes. It's about recruiting others to come.

I mean, absolutely. It has been impressive. There are just more opportunities for anyone that wants to be in show business or brand type stuff in NY or LA.

I don't buy into the stuff that NY is a viable destination for him unless they trade for another star.

I could see him being just fine going to the Lakers or Clippers to play with another superstar though. Not now, but in the future if we don't make moves to keep him happy.

Hopefully that will NEVER be necessary. Smoggy, fake Bitches.

why would Dame shut anything down? The uncertainty is the only way he can put public pressure on Olshey to do his fucking job and try and build a contender. For several years now, a lot of people have been calling for Dame to put management on notice and put pressure on them to quit trotting out the status quo every season. He's finally doing that very thing and now people are wishing he'd back off

First off I hope you’re right but my gut tells me he’s shut down and ready to move on.

So for the first time in his life, he is going to shut down? You need to lose that gut. (I could lose a little of mine right about now too)

Here’s what was just told to me

Take it with a grain of salt, but he nailed the assistant thing and the Lionel Hollins interview thing, so…..

1. Chauncey and Neil did indeed talk to Dame. The plan was for Chauncey to lay out how the current team would have played against Denver. How the offense, with more ball movement will help Dame, along with defensive strategies

2. Neil was to lay out how he plans to improve the roster with a type of player, rather than specific names. Also a clear plan moving forward

That’s what I got. No idea if that’s what happened, or how Dame received it

Sorry to piss people off with vagueness, if people don’t want this type of info, which is all I can get right now please let me know and we can all wait for more clear info
If anybody is pissed or responds in a negative way to anybody sharing info they can eff right off, imho.

I completely get it. The info is sometimes vague. No one shares where they heard it. Some info passed on doesn’t happen, or in the case of the Zach Randolph trade, happens a couple of days later. Plus, I think a lot of people in general are just cynical.

The vast majority of us appreciate it. The rest can fuck off.

Thank you for sharing.
