After taking a 2-0 series lead the Rangers have dropped three straight to the Astros. Last night Altuve’s three run homer in the top of the ninth gave Houston the comeback win and a 3-2 series lead. It’s hard to imagine the Rangers winning the next two in Houston.

Now that the Rangers and Jordan Montgomery are headed to the World Series, it's even more apparent that Trashman didn't believe in Monty, and as a GM he has no clues, let alone knowledge of what makes for a good pitcher. Trashman's acquisition of the two bumfks Montas and Rodon would be laughable if not for the painful reality of his monumental dumpster diving mentality!

At least he got rid of Chapman, but it doesn't take a genius to know Chapman is the last reliever one wants on the mound in a big game situation, his control is still extremely wild and erratic. Even a blind man could have told Trashman that Chapman was a wild pos that couldn't find the strike zone worth a shit!

Montogomery looked like shit vs Baltimore in the 4 IP, allowing 4 earned runs. Monty looked great vs Tampa Bay and even better vs Houston. His 2023 regular season, and post-season stats with Texas, reveal Montogomery as the kind of pitcher the Yanx never should have treaded. Basically, Montgomery was traded for a guy in an ortho-boot!

Exactly!
Both AZ and TX lost 110 and 104 Games just 2 seasons ago.
Last season TX lost 94 games and AZ lost 88.

Both have retooled considerably over that time.

Imo bringing Bochy aboard was a key move! So was Seager who rises to the occasion (most) throughout his post season play, especially in LA and even this year.

Then there's "what might of been" and who was once considered a future HOF caliber pitcher.

deGrom will turned 35last summer. Second Tommy John surgeries, known as revisions, require longer, slower rehabs. Recent studies show the average time between a revision and return to a major league mound is 20.76 months. Success rate (return to form) is lower for revisions than initial surgeries: between 33% and 78%, as compared to between 80% and 95%. Only 29% of revisions led to pitching more than two seasons in MLB.

In a best-case scenario, deGrom will not pitch again in the majors until the end of next season—and more likely given his age and history, not until 2025. Whatever thin chances he had of making the Hall of Fame are all but gone.
