OT Dana White says Power Slap Will be the biggest sport in the world,bigger than the UFC

I'm a pretty big UFC fan I got really into it in 2000 when the shows weren't even on PPV. I just started watching all of the UFCs that were available at Blockbuster or Hollywood Video with all of my friends and when it came back to PPV all of us were all in on it.

Dana has become more and more disconnected to reality ever since his prediction that UFC and MMA in general would become mainstream came true which coincided with the sale of the UFC from the Fertittas who were childhood friends of Dana's and I think kept him in line. Powerslap will not ever be bigger than the UFC it's a fucking carnival attraction with two skills at play... how hard you can hit someone with your open palm (they aren't slaps) and how good your chin is... that's it and I don't think it has any appeal to most people. MMA on the other hand and boxing for that matter has over a hundred and in MMA a thousand things/skills being executed at once.

Obviously all combat sports are contrived because they have rules but this bullshit called Powerslap is just incredibly limited and in my opinion dumb.

Edit: Just some context on what seems to have disconnected Dana from reality. That sale of the UFC from the Fertittas to Endeavor (one of the largest talent agencies and media conglomerates) gave Dana White a few hundred million dollars in cash and retention of just about as much ownership as he had of the UFC with the Fertittas. It also gave Dana pretty much absolute operational control over the UFC and he didn't have close to that when the Fertittas owned the company.

Yeah he's draining money into it. Everything Dana has tried on his own has failed. He tried to start a reality boxing show and then after that failed his own boxing promotion and that failed. Before his childhood friends brought him in to promote the UFC (not run but just promote the fights) Dana was the agent of Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz but he'd only been their agent for a few years and he had just failed to do some kind of boxing oriented video tape workout business and before that had a failed boxing gym. Dude never has had a boxing career or a career as a boxing trainer, just a fan of the sport that even when he was failing thought he knew more than everyone else.

Funny what billionaire friends with actual business acumen can do for someone with an irrational belief in himself and a lot of drive. The Fertittas own all of the Station Casinos in Vegas and a couple others. I'm not sure if any of them are on the strip but I think they owned the Palms for a period of time. Their cousin owns the Rockets and all of them come from mob money.

Dana's life is built on his ability to get a rich friend and keep that rich friend and Dana has pretty much come out and said that he himself is an amoral individual that isn't too concerned with ethics he thinks being human is kill or be killed and there's not much else to him.
 
Dumb as shit. Entertaining though. Won't last, definitely not going to be bigger than UFC. Never gonna surpass other professional sports either. Dana just trying to talk it up to try and build viewership so he doesn't lose his money. He's going to lose his money. Power Slap is a flash in the pan.
