<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Moo2K4:</div><div class="quote_post">How can you say that Q isn't bad? Look at the season he had last year. You can't blame that on his teammates. Anytime a player does bad, it's not because of their teammates, cause they're not the ones shooting the ball for him, he is. He's the one shooting, he's the one missing, it's his fault, not the teams. No one ever told him to take those shots, he chose to. And with Miles, he's not unocoordinated, cause otherwise he wouldn't be playing basketball. He is lazy, his work ethic has always been questioned, but what makes you think that Qs hasn't? Q is just as bad, if not worse, than Miles, the only thing that he doesn't have is the offcourt rep. He's on a bloated contract, as is Miles, but at least Miles was filling the statline before getting hurt last year, Q never did much of anyothing last year.</div>
Q had a lot to deal with off the court last season. I know his brother was murdered at his house and someone else close to him also passed away. Plus Q had to deal with nagging injuries all season long.
It would be ironic if these two were traded for one another. They had a close friendship when they both played for the Clippers. I think the trade benefits both teams and they each need a change of scenery. Q's game is better suited for the Western Conference and the Blazers need some veterans on the squad.
DMiles has a shorter contract and can be a more versatile player for the Knicks. He gets most of his points playing off the ball, and can play solid defense when he wants. Isiah could be successful if this squad plays with a chip on their shoulders. He has a group of talented, overpaid underachievers who have a lot to prove.
All it takes is players buying into a system and focusing on a common goal. The $100Million dollar question is whether or not Isiah can sell this team he built on his system.
The Championship Pistons roster was a collection of unwanted talent. Joe Dumars, Rick Carlisle, and finally Larry Brown were able to motivate this team by having them play the role of the underdog.
Watching the Knicks next season will be one of the interesting stories of the NBA.
