Do you have a link? While I like this deal I would rather keep mcinnis than get dmiles (boumtje boumtje is irrelevant). We don't need another Ruben Patterson, and that is the type of game that Dmiles would bring to our team.

That's from the Oregonian.. Yeah Miles hasnt proven to be what he was thought to be... I dont like this unless he actually does come out..

It would have been great to see Miles and Bonzi play together, but oh well.

Here's a link to the actual trade.

I think that this is Miles' shot to be someone, the rest of this year, and next year will prove if he can make it in th NBA

Not sure if this matters or not but Miles will be a free agent at the end of the year. I think Cleveland wanted to dump him for something because with LB here, Miles would have went somewhere else looking for more money..just my opinion. Hope he works out well for you guys, alot of fans here in Cleveland liked his energy alot..good luck

I doubt it this year. Because miles will see a-lot of time at the bench with rasheed and Zach hogging the minutes at the forwards spots better luck next year i guess.

I think its pretty clear by now that Miles is destined to be a role player...It'll be interesting to see how he fits into Portland's agenda...

He could very well be our starting sg until DA is 100%. Before we were playing with two pgs (mouse and mcinnis).

Miles has a ridiculously inaccurate jumpshot; he can't play SG. He can be a slasher but he's extremely turnover-prone as well. He really doesn't have a position until he finds himself a work ethic.

Jeff can play SG as well. Oh well. I was thinking tha Sheed will be the first one out of the team.

Wow, this one took me by surprise. McInnis is a solid point guard, but I think Portland got the better end of this deal. I think this means that Rasheed is pretty much gone and Miles is his replacement. What would the starting lineup look like now?

good trade for Cleveland, they gave away a player that wasn't doing much in the first place for a solid point guard. Will Silas move Lebron and start Mcinnis? I hope so, I think Lebron would flourish at the shooting guard.

Althought I don't think Miles is going to be Rasheed's replacement, I do think this has something to do with Rasheed being dealt soon. I still would have to believe that Darius can develope into the player everyone was expecting he would, as long as he works hard over the next summer. If he can solidify his outside jumper he can be a key player in the future for the Blazers.

This was a horrible trade for the blazers. Why would someone want Darius Miles? I didn't think the situation in Portland was that bad. All he can do is jump high and dunk. They don't need another big player, all they need is confidence and a vocal leader. They don't need someone who taps his head with his fists everytime they dunk.

After skipping practice and being a problem in Cleveland, it was only a matter of time before Darius was traded..and he got traded to the Blazers! He will fit in nicely. Just kidding!

Its funny how a guy can go from having such to now people being angry about aquiring him on their team. If this kind of trade happened two years ago everyone would have thought the Blazers pulled off a great trade. I guess it doesn't help if his play only decreased year by year.

He was clearly a problem in Cleveland, so why did we pick up another trouble-maker? We got rid of Bonzi, and then we pick up the less talented DMiles?

I can see why Scottie hated the Blazer managment.

I don't understand why the Blazers would do this. I thought they were trying to get rid of trouble makers?

Miles isn't a trouble maker,he is a guy you can get frustrated with because of how much talent he has, that doesn't actually play to his potenial. From what I know Miles isn't a bad person nor does he have a record of any sort

You also need to remember he is a free-agent at the end of the season.Which helps the Blazers cap situation.

I was referring to his attitude that has always been horrible IMO. Could be wrong.

I've never seen him play but I have heard good things about Darius Miles. I've also never seen Boomje play wasn?t he always injured or something? McInnis was getting pretty good and I'm sort of sad to see him leave. I Hope Darius Will deliver.

Darius is a penitrater. He can deliver in the low post and slash in the paint and create plays to kick out side for an open guard. He will bring some excitement to the team with his flashy dunks. You guys will love his horn call (fists to headband) after every point he scores. The downside to Darius is that he is young. Not only young but young minded as well. Mabey this move will get Miles to realize that "Hey its time to grow up." Good luck with Miles Portland.

Lets put it this way. I would strongly doubt that Miles will be a Blazer next year. Lets face it, he is the perfect example of a HS kid with a HS mentality that should have gone to college instead of jump straight to the NBA. He has horrible fundamentals and is not a thread by any means to the defense. Darius is good for two things: speed and vertical. Besides that, he is worthless.

To me this doesnt look like it was a cap move by the Blazers. McInnis was set to only make around $3.5 million next year which isn't bad cap wise. Rubem-Boumtje's contract expires at the end of this season($680,000). If they wanted to clear cap they should have moved Damon Stoudamire or Derrick Anderson.

This deal is mind-boggling to me from the Blazers prospective. Do you think there is another deal possibly lined up?

Impossible to trade either Stoudamire or DA because of their huge contracts.Fact is Mcinnis was not happy with his lack of minutes,he made that clear which is why he was benched last sunday when Blazers visited Phoenix.

They wanted to get rid of JM so bad that Darius Miles was the best they were going to get for him.Miles is still very young, would still become a good player under the right system. If he is going to be a success anywhere it will be in New York. With Marbury feeding him the ball on the break, that would be the prefect situation for him.

Is there another deal lined up? I would say so,however I doubt It's going to involve who everyone thinks.

The way you guys are talking reminds me of how people thought about Jermain O'neal. He turned out to be one of the most dominant players in the east after a simple trade.

Dairus is a power player so I'm hearing... So is Rasheed and most of the other Blazers. I'm pretty sure He will evolve in Portland... Also considering Portland seems to be trying to get people they can build on. Nash said he thinks Dairus Miles will grow into a great player and is still very young and has allot of room to be really good. If he shows cheeks he wants to play he will stay another year.

I hope you're right.

Darius Miles has thus far proven to be nothing but a KG-clone that busted spectacularly due to a severe lack of discipline and work ethic. Look to Tyson Chandler and Eddie Griffin for other manifestations of the infinite potential x 0 effort = 0 positive results formula.
