If the Rangers aren't shifting and are playing regular defense against Ortiz it's a no hitter.

Vic, is it just me or, thru your eyes doesn't it seem like most Teams are over utilizing the shift?
I can't recall any season where I saw the shift used this much. It seems most teams are shifting more in a week, than they did all last year?
MLB announcers slobbering over "Big Sloppi" when he called in to comment on the play. MLB needs to seriously consider making staff changes. Harold Reynolds&^%%&.
Well Reynolds spent thirty minutes crying about the error on Ortiz's popup in the seventh and how it should've been a hit.
Just wasn't following his logic. I think the other guys were pretty frustrated by the whining as well.
...that's a rule I never really understood. I mean why is it predicated on whether or not the fielder touched the ball or not? If a fielder totally misplays a ball and it misses his glove it's not an error?...but if it does touch his glove it is an error.
Well, that blows up in their face because I've seen Pedroia boot a ball and it not be called an error, you know, to protect the stats of their lil gold glover. I've also seen Lester get shelled but they call hits errors so as not to harm his ERA - last start against the Yanks at Fenway being the perfect example. It's high time MLB added a 4th man to the crew to become the official scorer.
