IMO, if he trades for Jordan it will be more about salary cap than roster building.

How though?

And you can’t say by dumping contracts because the clippers are trying to clear space, either for this summer or next. Moe, Meyers, and Evan are all under contract past the next two summers. They’d have zero interest, even if we attached a pick.

What? Deandre's contract is like 22 million...trading for him would likely add to the salary

Let’s see

Jordan’s 30-34 seasons at $25m

Or

Nurkic’ 23-27 seasons at maybe $20m

Wow real tough choice there.

Probably true, but that has to be the pitch. Maybe a third team has to get involved.

keep Nurk...trade Meyers Leonard and Mo Harkless for Robin Lopez and a draft pick..Bulls have Rolo on the trade block

Watch Neil do something shitty like a harkless, Turner, and Vonleh to NYK for Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee and a 1st

That would be shitty?

Yeah, I heard that NY is trying to package Noah and his contract with their likely lottery pick. I immediately thought why isn't Portland getting in on that? It definitely lengthens our contract commitments while continuing to toe the luxury cap line, but I don't see a better or quicker way of obtaining lottery picks. The team isn't going to purposely tank. Arguably, our three most talented players, were our most recent lottery selections, so it seems reasonable giving Olshey more lottery picks is our best shot at improving. This kind of deal is the closest thing to buying picks. Using our best asset, Allen's money, to improve. As it stands, we haven't been using our best asset wisely or to it's best potential for awhile, and the results speak for itself.

IMO We aren’t getting Jordan, doesn’t make sense, we are not gonna make the team worse at the deadline, Dame would freak.

I’d do that knicks deal. Turner is still a good player, just doesn’t fit Portland as much. Noah is useless but I’d do it if it netted us Lee.

Can you imagine Noah in Oregon though lmfao! (DNP-CBD)

The trade would likely be Shabazz, Nurkic,
Turner, either Ed Davis or Noah Vonleh for DJ and Lue Williams.

With the Clippers trying to be players in FA. There is zero chance they will accept Turner.

That’s cool that after I explained why they wouldn’t take Turner that you went ahead with it anyway.

Ed is solid. Lately whenever he goes in they increase or maintain the lead. He's too good for the money.

There really isn’t anything Jordan brings that Davis also doesnt, except the ability to bang with traditional centers. but we already have one of those, who’s much younger. The more I talk about Jordan the more I want to bang my head into my wall.

The only way I see us getting Jordan is if we can give away Meyers and maybe Harkless with it and then Jordan leaves at the end of the year puitting us well below the lux tax.,

If any team wants a bunch of YOUNG players and draft picks...it's the Clippers

Not a chance in hell the clippers take on Turner. I’ll eat a shoe if that happens.
It all depends on what lebron does.

I could see lebron and Durant going to the clippers, but if lebron doesn’t go there this off-season, I could see the clippers blowing it up.

So basically, if the clippers want to suck, they will take his contract.

Clippers are set up to have a shit ton of cap space for the summer of 2019 when guys like Jimmy Butler become free agents. No way would they take on a contract like Turner.

Our only hope for Turner is Minnesota imo.

Sure, but they don’t want overpaid young players eating into their cap space.
sshhhh....the first rule of trade deadline is don't undersell at the trade deadline....the Nets signed Mozgov for god's sake
