Yes, the ex-Bowfin is a decommissioned submarine.

It can't be long till DJ is gone and likely Sweet Lou as well.

You want to trade our 1st, 2nd and 3rd string centers for a guy who can't play in the 4th quarter of close games due to his career .439 FT%?

GTFO!

Never mind the fact that Jordan isn't a better defender, only has a higher ORtg due to alley oops but is otherwise worse offensively, and is 6 years older. But yeah, let's trade a better player for a worse player, and also add in our best hustle player to boot. So long as we add Meyers to the mix it MUST be good, right?

We have a lack of consistent talent, and Jordan would improve that immediately becoming
the 3rd or 4th best player on the team. So, I'm interested.

The problem is that I'm not sure the Clips want what I'm selling. I won't trade our big 3 or
Collins, though I'd give up a protected 1st rounder.

Trading a starter, a top reserve and whatever Meyers is for a guy who would be our 3rd or 4th best player? Nurk is already our 3rd or 4th best player and 6 years younger. Plus, Jordan can not play at the end of close games. I'm not getting it.

The ONLY reason Neil would even consider trading for Jordan is as a way to appease Dame if he's disenchanted with Nurk's lack of progress (regression since last season). But, hopefully Dame is smart enough to realize we aren't winning it all this year and won't be "happy" trading away young talent for over the hill players who won't be around to help us 2 or 3 years from now when guys like Nurk are entering their prime.

Also hopefully Dame realizes he isn't the sort of PG that can feed Jordan the alley oops he needs to make himself offensively relevant.

You say "starter, top reserve, and whatever Meyers is, you mean" and I say "inconsistent guy, overpaid guy, and whatever Meyers is"

Trading Jordan for Nurk doesn’t even make sense for the clipppers, nevermind Portland. They’re trying to clear space to make a run at Lebron. How does acquiring a pending RFA who’ll command roughly $80m help? Not to mention we’d have to match salaries as well so that’s not the only big contract they’d be getting from us.

A more likely scenario is we get involved as a third team.

Where did you hear this? If I'm LBJ, I have no interest in the Clips.

A scenario:

Milwaukee wants DeAndre. Clippers don’t want Jabari because they don’t want to pay him. We do though.

We also add our first round pick and send it to the Clippers. Clippers only take on Aminus contract which they could easily move if they wanted to in the summer. They cut Layman and Davis is an expiring.

No thanks. Henson is soft as fuck. Parker is coming off another major injury and that trade puts us even further over the tax threshold.

My bad it was stein

How does trading away all of their best players - CP3, Griffin, Jordan and now Lou Williams get them on LeBron's short list? If that's their strategy, it's dumb as fuck. Do they really think LeBron wants to spend the last few years of his career waiting for a bunch of young nobodies to reach their potential? It's not like they even have any promising young players, like PHI does in Embiid and Simmons.

They could play to Lebrons ego and sell him on being a teams savior while playing in a major market.

Cool now list the upside

Parker suddenly and miraculously becomes the paradigm of health and we have an average rebounding, average shooting, negative defender at the stretch 4 taking minutes away from Zach Collins.

The Lakers would have a MUCH stronger case. But, LeBron isn't looking to be a savior. He's looking to win at least one more ring, and if possible, he'd prefer to play with one, or more, of his close friends. Neither is happening with the Clippers.

Must be bullshit.
Unless they accept a package of Turner, Meyers, and Layman, I hope to god it is bullshit. Jordan would be a horrible fit here and I don't want his can't make a fucking free throw ass.

To me the best thing about this rumor is that apparently Olshey low balled them with his first offer.

Average shooting? Maybe from outside, although he improved on that as well. He was pretty much a floor spacer with Giannis last year. He could play SF for Portland as well, with Collins at PF. He’d fill the role Melo would’ve had, except he’s better without the ball. He’d be a legit third scorer and all it would cost us is Aminu, an expiring contract, and a non lottery pick. That’s a risk worth taking.

It doesn’t improve us at all. It would make our offense even worse. Jordan doesn’t demand any attention. And he’s almost 30 with a game heavily reliant on athleticism. AND he’ll cost more than Nurk in free agency. If Olshey does it I’ll fucking light his office on fire my god damn self.

It would cost us more than that. We'd need to move at least one more player, possibly two, to get under the tax threshold. Parker has basically had half of a really good season. But's he also had two major knee surgeries in three years.

Plus, we'd be stuck with John Henson. He's not Meyers bad, but the fans in MIL hate him because he's so soft, and his contract is very similar to Meyers' contract. Do we really need to be paying another bench warmer $10 million a year when we already have Meyers, Harkless?
