And I like trob, he can be a lot of fun to watch. But I agree with this decision 100%
Thomas Robinson has basically zero basketball skill, so this isn't that surprising
As I've said for over a year now, his CEILING is JJ Hickson. He's just not that good.
Meyers sucks but at least brings a little shooting to the team and can stretch the defense. He's basically a 0 in all other situations, but he still has that.
Thomas Robinson is a dime a dozen.
For the last couple of years I felt like things have changed. I felt like we start looking at basketball players, at people, not just use wishful thinking or calculating salaries.
The sucky groupthink on these boards is amazing. TRob is gone, therefore he sucks - just crazy.
Please don't mention skills. TRob would have been a top 15 rebounder in the league with league average minutes - this is not a dime a dozen. Biebs makes the worst decisions of any player I've ever seen and we're keeping him.
This was done for salary cap reasons, period.

What I make of this is that you are smarter than Stotts, Olshey, Leonard, and most of the posters on this board. I'm honored to be in your company. How can u tolerate this? We're surrounded by people with Leonard's understanding of basketball. Apparently two of them are our coach, GM. I don't know what to make of this.

Who said TRob is "on the way out"? He'll be playing for a contract and will be traded for value or paid the market rate after the season. Quite possibly by the Blazers.I'm a little homophobic also. Not as politically correct as you are. But I honestly feel like I'm the only one here not being terribly wrong. I can't understand the logic, I can't understand how suddenly T-Rob is on the way out. I just don't get it.

love the enthusiasm, Mags, and the ever-increasing salary, but it would have been a $4.66M hit next year, not "almost 6M"

But there's a 15 mil cap hold if I'm not mistake
I think he explained that happens because we didn't pick up his option.
Brian mentioned the following quote in a different thread:
"If the Blazers wanted to keep the option of going over the cap to resign Robinson, they would need to maintain a cap hold of about $15M for him."
I think he's dealt for a shooter asap.
See I'm pretty sure he'd rather re-sign here albeit for less money, but in his mind that is probably better than going to another unknown situation. Getting traded by teams who don't give you a shot, to playing on a playoff team and being part of a playoff series win.[TWEET]527174673998426112[/TWEET]
