I honestly think there is certain levels, as far as being a fan goes.
Some people are just casual fans, and will occasionally watch the games that are nationally televised, don't really follow any off-season news, don't know much about the players personal lives.
Then there are the hardcore fans, who not only actively try to watch every game, but will complain when none of the pre-season games are televised. They hang out on a forum all day, waiting for the latest Blazer news, and know far too much about the players personal business.
And like you said HCP, on a more basic level, and this applies to me as well:
If the team wins, you as a fan are overjoyed. But if they lose, you're bummed out.
There's nothing wrong with being emotionally invested in a sports team. There damn sure isn't anything wrong with backing up the team or it's players when someone tries to drag their names through the dirt. I just don't see where some "fans", get their sense of entitlement from.
Certain poster(s) feel as if the team, or even Greg Oden himself, owe them something because they've been let down at one time or another.
Wow! You sure have come a long way since that SHITTY first post you made. Man was it SHITTY!
