Denver doesn't have anything to offer us anyway.


Dave D also says the Lakers don't want to do anything (if it aint broke...), and Dallas would never give up Harris. Avery Johnson is basically in love with Harris and expects him to be an All Star next year. Don't ask me why. Dude's not that good. But that's who Dallas wants running the show.

Cleveland probably knows they have no chance in this at all, and if they make an offer, they'll probably offer some garbage like Hughes who has a terrible contract. They really have nothing to offer.


I'd say it's virtually impossible to trade Kidd because his contract is so damn large and we'd be forced to take on terrible and long contracts for players who are journeymen or just mediocre and useless. It would just suck. Why would any decent team that's playing well right now gut their roster for one guy, no matter who he is? They wouldn't. So Kidd is a Net.

I think the next week to 10 days are important in gauging how desperate Kidd wants out. Watch his numbers, watch his play, watch his demeanor. If he's still hustling and running out there, then it will be hard to trade him, if he starts sitting, the losing streak continues and the stats are very consistent, Thorn will just move him for 50 cents on the dollar.

Harris is a base year comp player this season. The team he is going to will be charged for his full salary, but his trade value is only half of his salary. So that will put the Nets over the lux tax without further moves. NJ won't do that move without dumping salary to a 3rd team.

I think saying the Lakers don't want him might be a little false. They were in love with him last year but couldn't get a deal to go through because they liked Bynum way too much. I think that if Kupchak and Phil think Kidd will put them over the top they'll definitely look into getting him. Too bad for you, there's NO WAY Bynum is including this year and you'd probably have to take Kwame (expiring this year) or Odom (expiring next year), or both if you guys threw in Maagloire.

Are you kidding me? Not that good? Harris is a stud, his jumpshot is getting better this year. But I thought Dallas' package only contained expiring contracts and a pick? When did Harris get mentioned?

I think Thorn rather have Kidd sit home playing with himself until his contract runs out than to take back contracts that will hurt the franchise long term.

Kwame Brown/Jordan Farmar and contracts expiring this year or next from the Lakers
Mavs, you're looking at Stackhouse, Diop, Bass, Barea, George and Hassell(2009)
Cavs has the most future obligations to offer:
2008 - Newble, Gibson
2009 - Marshall, Snow, Jones

I mean you pick up a package that includes expiring deals this season, and none extending beyond 2010, Thorn should be pretty happy.

I can't see Thorn saying yes to Hughes, Walton or Vlad, they have deals going beyond 2009, unless it's a prospect like Farmar. Damon Jones comes off the books after next season. Gooden comes off next season too. Here's a thought, Thorn gets no trade offers for Kidd to his liking, Kidd finishes off the season and is in China for the Olympics....his last year on the contract is a player option........
