Politics DeSantis vs Cruz vs Hawley vs Trump

Unless he has health struggles by then, I think he'll run for a second term. If he's still substantially similar in 4 years to how he is today, I don't think he drops out.
What will help him is that the people who work for him won't get dumped like Trump did to so many staffers and department heads. Loyalty is earned by respecting your boss rather than loyalty used as a threat. That aspect alone makes Joe Biden a good boss. He is not a micro managing dullard like "former guy".

Seems ironic that the only place you ever hear about QAnon is from left wing outlets trying to tell us how scary all the right wingers are with their crazy conspiracy. I live somewhere completely surrounded by conservatives and have literally never heard a single person so much as mention QAnon. I don’t think anyone even knows what the fuck it is. I don’t even know what the fuck it is, honestly. Seems like one of those media triggers to get camps to lob stones at one another. Somehow 4 dickheads standing around with Trump signs is the biggest story in leftist media?

I can’t tell what the actual conspiracy is: QAnon; or the idea that QAnon is actually something worth talking about. The latter seems to have a larger following. I’m pretty sure if lefty media would just shut up about it it would disappear forever. There are less QAnons than there are late night hosts talking about it.
No, that's the only place you remember hearing it. I've heard Trump and Representative, (R) Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greene , a huge supporter of Qanon, talk about it. Every time Trump answers a reporter's question about it, he retorts that he's never heard of it. You'd think that sooner or later Trump would recall hearing it mentioned in some reporters question.

Yeah, sounds like it...

Two priorities DeSantis announced Thursday would require the consent of lawmakers to become reality.

One would create a “Resilient Florida” program that would provide $1 billion over four years to award grants to state and local governments for projects that address the effects of climate change: sea level rise, intensified storms and localized flooding.

The other initiative would spend $43.5 million to create a program to provide financial awards of $100 for students at schools with a large number of low-income students, otherwise known as Title I schools. The awards would be based on their performance, with a focus on literacy programs at those schools.

Although House and Senate legislative leaders have warned of the potential cuts to education spending, DeSantis wants an overall increase of the state’s K-12 system. He proposed $22.8 billion in the upcoming fiscal year, a $290 million increase over last year.

DeSantis’ wish list includes another $10 million for mental health services at schools and teacher salaries and proposed a $233 per-student increase in state and local funding that’s distributed based on enrollment.
As someone who works for the state of Florida with biological research, DeSantis is a piece of shit. He ran on being a fiscal republican but wanting to preserve what WE have here. And them he went full Trump. That guy can die in a fucking flood event as far as I'm concerned. No one I personally know would vote for him again.

I'm voting for a sinkhole, myself. But a las it's not gonna matter for me here soon. Moving back to Oregon. I will say two things about Florida, I'll really miss not having to pay income tax and the gas prices. I'm gonna hold my tongue and just leave everything else for another day. Ok, one other thing, I don't know anyone here that would vote for him either.

Valid thoughts. My girlfriend and I also plan on leaving Florida. Just have to wait until we both finish college courses. This state could be amazing with the right leadership, but it's a cesspool of disgusting Trumpian policies. It's a shame, as it's really quite a beautiful area with a very diverse population.

What, in your mind, pushes Florida toward such extreme politicians state-wide when, as you noted, the state is quite diverse and is often a battleground state nationally? In other words, this isn't exactly Alabama.

I wish I had a good answer to this, because it is an excellent question. Just like every other state, the large cities largely vote Democrat, and the rural areas largely vote republican. This is nothing new. However, Florida is a really massive state and happens to have a lot of rural areas. Basically any open road is going to have random small communities right off of it. The population is so sprawled out and decentralized. And the Trump cult mentality has definitely taken over all of the rural areas. I'm sure a political scientist could describe this better.

The GOP has historically been anti Cuba so the hispanic Cuban expats in Florida have one of the largest GOP following in the Americah Hispanic community...at least that's where I think they get their votes largely

That seems like a very good assessment. You can definitely see when driving through the state the diversity politically.

Don't kid yourself, Florida is part of the deep South. My aunt moved from Alabama to seek her fortune there. While there she made a lot of money with her two night clubs and two package (liquor) stores. She witnessed a mob hit and went into the witness protection program, got one of her night clubs burned down by the mob because she wouldn't sell out to them, married a small time gangster who got taken out in New Orleans. She married the sheriff and all her troubles went away. That was in Ft. Walton Beach. Later, she relocated to Panama City.

It's amazing how long people hold political grudges. The Cuban revolution happened 60 years ago!

I know...it's baffling that we have made friends with Viet Nam, Japan and Germany and still hold a grudge against Cuba...

She sounds like every person I've ever met in Panama City, to be honest.

At one time she was probably the most beautiful woman you ever saw. I have a cousin in Alabama, one of her many nieces, who had the same stunning beauty. So what happened to me? I haven't a clue but I got hit with the ugly stick.

53% of Republicans back Donald Trump for 2024 with Mike Pence far behind in second place at 12% and even Don Jr scoring far more support than string of senators
  • Trump has not said for certain he is running in 2024 but said after acquittal in Senate trial that MAGA movement 'has only just begun'

  • Poll was taken after Trump was acquitted in Senate impeachment trial
  • Mike Pence, who presided as the Senate counted the electoral votes that made Joe Biden president gets 12 per cent support in the poll

The latest recording of Trump calling Georgia election officials was found in the official's trash folder (yahoo.com) The pollsters should mention this too........

DeSantis, already under federal investigation, is now requiring people under 65 to get a prescription from doctor to get a vaccine. Large number without insurance since, like a good Republican, DeSantis refused Medicare expansion. Uninsured people don't have a doctor to go to or means to pay.

Florida has one of the biggest racial discrepancy in vaccination in the country.
But keeping vaccine from poor people means more for wealthy campaign donors

Strange that he would say something so controversial about a bill that has no chance of passing the Senate (since it needs 60 votes to break a filibuster). I guess that speaks to the fact that he was so moved by his hatred of more citizens, including the minority voters, voting that he spoke from the heart rather than political considerations.

Mike Lee said voting rights act written by the devil straight out of hell. Christian First Pence wrote an op ed claiming bill would give franchise to undocumented immigrants (it doesn't), would outlaw all voter ID (it doesn't), and would count ballots cast after election day (it doesn't). But when your real god is Trump and you are trying to win back the "hang Mike Pence" crowd, what's a few lies?

Yeah, Biden and Harris are hooked on cocaine when they're not cannibalizing small children and selling them for sex slaves. I'm pretty much the same only I entice the small children with pizza. This works better than candy to get them in my car where I can whisk them off to the sex slave market. All Democrats are like that.

When you put it that way, Democrats sound problematic.

Good to see you're still alive Jeffrey. Knew they couldn't keep a player down.

DeSantis is under federal investigation? Is there anyone in the GOP the Dems won’t sic the FBI on to investigate?

Your post is dumb, yet again, because older people are the most at risk and are abundant in Florida. Every post I read from you is nonsense.

Source it please, and not that stalker kook Rebekah Jones, who has been fired from her last three jobs now and arrested after each firing.

This post is full of lies, and I think religion is for suckers, be it theological or secular. You seem to be in the secular cult of Far Leftism. Basically the opposite of an Evangelical, but with the same hatred of others who don’t think like you.
