Desperate Robin Lopez salary dump coming

I don't see how that could work because they are desperate to she'd salary. We can't give them more

I don't know what their situation is and how much money they need to shed. Say they only needed to shed around $2 million. Dumping Lopez and adding Freeland cuts $2MM and gives them a big man (though it's Joel Freeland - nuff said). Or Claver. Just something that helps keep us with a little cap room.

Guys, Lopez played well last year and is on a really good deal. You take him in a second. Fuck waiting on a maybe.

Like blazing said. We will know just how "maybe" asik is because of this. If its almost a sure thing; then he won't do it. But if he doesn't act; then he knows something we dont

Oh that makes sense.

Unless Olshey already has a deal worked out for Asik: Get him. He beats the hell out of the scrubs we've been talking about. As for his low rebounding, Hickson was a rebound vacuum. His teammates just stood and watch him take every one. With no Hickson playing for a contract, you'll see Aldridge and others share the rebound load more.

Why are Asik and Lopez the only two options?

It would be foolish for any gm that needs a center to not jump on this. That is unless that gm has a better center in the works

By that logic, wouldn't other teams be after them too?

BBert speaks for me. Repped.

Bird in the hand. If they were willing to dump him now for nothing, I'd be happy to take him. Still have about 4 million left, go after someone like Corey Brewer as abackup 2/3. And then sign a vet 3rd string PG.

Yep. I don't have an issue with using some cap space for that contract in an unbalanced trade.

If we do pick him up; it's not the end of the world. I just think it's not the home run in looking for.

There isn't going to be a home run, unless either LMA or Lillard are involved in the trade.

Why not just take on Lopez's contract as cap space for a 2019 2nd round pick or something similar?

We traded 4 within the last week or so. I don't think we have any more....

Pritchard had hundreds of them. I'm sure there are one or two left in some upcoming draft. :)

That would be a really solid aquisition. Robin is known for being a good defender. It would "solve" the starting center problem and leave us with room to get someone else.

Imagine the moment of substitution. Leonard will make Lopez seem like an all-star.

I would rather have the sure thing in Lopez. Asik is the better player....I guess, but I'd hate to lose out on both and have to settle for Kaman or Zaza

I'd do it in a heartbeat. I wanted to sign him last year after missing out on Hibbert. I just think it'd be cool if we found a way to keep $5-6 million to play with - don't you?

This. Plus, Lopez is cheaper.

Crap. I was liking the idea of Lopez and a bit of cap room.

We all were. I won't be surprised if we leave this offseason thinking, "Wow, NO had his needle laid out and ready to thread the needlepoint, but the suppliers took their thread and peddled it elsewhere, so we were left without thread to finish our blanket."

Just like last offseason, when NO laid out his needle for a tough masterpiece by a newbie.

If we're going to take $5MM+ off their cap situation, they should be sending us a 2nd or two. We can give them $1MM or so back to help them pay for Tyreke, but there are few teams willing to eat that much cap for a guy like Lopez.
